Here Today...

Hey everyone,

Things are heating up, especially with junkie ass-clown's little rant (seriously, he weighs like a buck ten; an ADHD six year old girl scout with a bad hay fever attack could take him), so, we have to make sure we suppor CD the way a loyal community should.

In the spirit of the GNR Street Team (remember?) we ALL, every single one of us, should purchase 2 copies of Chinese Democracy. Give one to a VR fan under 20, if you wish.

My inspiration for this relatively simple idea to support the new band and our old friend Axl came from the last VR show I went to. I'm a 30 plus GNR fan. Have been since I was 12. 1987 was the year I developed what would ultimately be my taste for music, and Guns N' Rosesare the soundtrack to my life, the way they are for a lot of us on this great board.
Anyway, I went to the men's room, and I saw this 16 year old kid in brand new (looked like it JUST came off the rack at Hot Topic!) Appetite For Destruction T-Shirt. I went to the show with two good friends of mine (having escaped the wives for a night) and told them about it. Motherfucker, that kid wasn't even born or can't remember the glory days of GNR. And VR, while a very good band, JUST AIN'T THE SAME THING.  It made me think about CD and I thought to myself, I really hope these guys succeed. The pressure of living up to the name, with the VR guys as successful as they are, and Axl's musical cred kind of hanging on this album, has got to be tough. As fans we can support them where it counts. Units sold. If we double our efforts, we can make a difference in its commercial success. This also means NO STEALING MUSIC. Petition radio stations, etc, etc, it;s all good.

As for the critical success, that hangs on bloggers, the mainstream media and other notable musicians. Not much we can do there, or at least most of us. So, let's do it people. I've been coming to this board as a guest for 5 years and am posting for the first time. Let's make CD go fucking platinum in the time it takes Scott Weiland to finish his yoga pilates class and eat side salad for dinner. THAT's getting in the ring, bitch.

PS-I would pay money to see Beta hit him so hard he fucking cries. Go to your room, and take off that 80's Axl Rose Costume you wear on stage, jesus.

Thanks for a great board, Jarmo. I've had fun all these years.

Peace

What's everyone's problem with us kids being Gn'R fans?   Huh

I've been wondering that too. Maybe CocaineTongue22 cares to explain(?)

You've been a GN'R-fan since 1987 yet you want Slash, Duff and Matt to failure with they're new band? Axl isn't Guns N' Roses. Get over it.

Hey guys, no, no, no,

It wasn't that at all. I love the fact that kids are into GNR. It makes me very happy actually. I just hoped that we could ALL help support the band. That's all. As a matter of fact I've seen VR three times and loved it. The original guys are awesome. It is ultimately about the music.
