IRS: 8
Better: 8.5-9 (but I wanna hear the rest before giving final judgement...could go up to a 10, or down to a 7, depending on the rest of the song)

IRS - 7

I don't know how some people are giving Better such a high rating and saying its one of the best GNR songs of all time....we've only heard 1:20 of it!?!?!?!?!?

irs 20 out of 10
better 22 out of 10

Oh come on you must be pretty hard up or have no judging ability. At that rate silkworms would earn atleast a 15 out of 10 on your scale.

Guns N' Roses - 10.

Seriously, I love IRS. I am reserving judgement on Better. I will say I have played these songs to non-Gn'R fans, some in thier late teens early 20's and they all think that the stuff is ground breaking. Sad that it never happend 10 years ago, may have saved us from Link N' Sync, Goo Goo Dolls and Rob Thomas.

I.R.S. - atm 7.5, drums and vocals seems unfinished.
Better - 8, -2 points due that "All that I wanted" sounds like Good Charlotte.

IRS - 7. the song has potential to really kick ass, but it just never gets you there. the solo is phenominal though. and the rhythm guitar in the background is incredible - very heavy - it actually reminds me of old black sabbath. ?

better clip - 6. vocals sound good. and the end of the clip gives me hope that i'll really love the song if we ever hear a finished version.

« Reply #35 on: February 17, 2006, 08:20:29 PM »

Rating is relative. Compared to the shit that is out there on the radio, both songs get a 10.
But I think you mean compared to other GN'R songs:

IRS: 7
Better: 5

Glad I'm not the only one who likes IRS better than better.

Maybe when we get to hear the whole song better will be better.

IRS is about a 6.5 - 7.

Don't wanna rank Better without hearing the full song.

IRS - I give a 7 1/2 - the irs, fbi thing sounds gimmicky

Better - a 3 - the song shows great potential to kick ass, but the chorus we can almost hear makes me think of something gay and powerchorded that Nickleback would write.

But, I'll gladly take them.
