"Sun., Jan. 15th 9:00 PM ET
Velvet Revolver - Live in Houston - Premiere
A concert that follows the release of their self-titled first album, Velvet Revolver. The five-man powerhouse rock band finally brings something new to the scene. While Velvet Revolver inevitably offers a few echoes of its members' illustrious pasts, their sound is defiantly forward-looking and truly fresh. The band features Guns N' Roses founding members Slash and Duff, as well as Stone Temple Pilots vocalist Scott Weiland."

Hmm, seems pretty intresting, I cant see it but maybe someone could record it?
Not sure about the if it's the upcoming DVD, but I remember the DVD being the Houston show?

I'm confused (as ususal) ... what do they mean by "their self-titled first album"?
Did they miss something ..... like "Contraband" maybe?

I watched it.  Very nice HD performance.  It was a concert with some interviews between the songs.  The camera work was kind of annoying.  The couldn't just shoot the show they had to add all of these color and visual effects.  Also, it seemed like the lead vocals had been done again in the studio.  It seemed a couple of times that Scott was lip-synching.  They did basically their full album and "crackerman", "it's so easy", "used to love her" and closed with "Sex type thing"

?They did basically their full album

Not really.. I can name 4 of the best tunes on Contraband that were left off...  Dirty Little Thing, Superhuman, You Got No Right and Loving The Alien... They also left out Spectacle but that is probably a good thing...

If you watched it, did you think that the lead vocals were overdubbed?  I watched it again last night and it was so obvious in some places that it seemed like Scott was lip-synching.

I don't think anyone recorded it from what I've read on various forums. Hopefully someone will be nice enough to record the Thurs Jan 19th repeat show.

The vocals were definitely overdubbed in several locations. ?The most obvious are the following, just from my memory of seeing the show 1 and 1/2 times:
Sucker Train Blues: ?The chorus was way too good and didn't fit his mouth at times.
Big Machine: ?Money in the "ba-a-a-nk" sounded exactly the same every time and didn't fit his mouth movements. ?Also, right before he got the crowd involved, you could still hear vocals but he had started to say something to the crowd. ?The verses sounded too perfect as well.
Slither: ?The first two verses may have been touched up. ?
Set Me Free: ?Ditto.
Plus, there were other parts that seemed noticeable that I don't remember at this point. ?Overall, though, I think most of the vocals were real, but I personally would rather have no overdubs at all. ?Great show, but the DVD, the effects and so forth were unimpressive.

Wow, that has been mixed more than GN'R's live era, everything just sounded so unnatural? Undecided
Idiot special effects sucked big time too, overall a bad video, they just shouldve let it as it is.

I thought it was a pretty good show. The chick with the Nazi hat answering the questions was pretty annoying though.

Scott, with VR live is not a good singer, hes not terribly crap, but these last few  months he aint been on form. (constant touring fucked em up?).
