I've never heard anyone who isn't a heroin addict called a junkie.
That's just offensive.

You message board junkie!

Now, go and refresh the main page a few million times!

Awesome...impressive stats....suprised nobody has complained at the Bon Jovi rip-off title hihi .....Tied-Up should be along soon though Wink

First of all, BON JOVI can suck my dick.

Second, Bon Jovi ripped off Elvis, thus the suits they're wearing on the cover of their cd.
My mistake what can i say?

Elvis was a God to many but he didn't mean shit to me..

go play with your needles junkie boy...nobody asked you for your worthless and patronising opinion
Needles?....Junkie Boy?

Somebody says Bon Jovi can suck my dick, but Axl said that to so it's ok

I knock Elvis big deal

First of all this is a GNR message board, so using the words some members of the band used would be a common thing...

Second, if you compare Elvis to Bon Jovi, and you think Bon Jovi are better, good for you.

However Elvis did a lot more than Bon Jovi, was more original (instead of copying some else), and I could come up with a million reasons why he is better. I'm pretty sure even Bon Jovi themselves think the same, cause they respect the people who opened the way for what they're doing today...

Fair enough no-one asked for Stoned's opinion but this is a message board. This is where opinions are meant to be aired.

I think it's unfair to attack Stoned in such a harsh way just for stating what he thinks. What he does in his spare time is his business and shouldn't be used so personally against him

Do you list alcohol users as junkies also?

nope...those that abuse alcohol are alcoholics

anyone who takes drugs has no self control, and dependency on a drug is just sad...like watching someone panicking when trying to light their cigarette...tis the most pathetic thing...

Fine freedom of speech on Elvis....Indeed anyone who uses drugs is a junkie but that can stretch from the mild cannabis to heroin...i would be referencing cannabis and would never in a million years touch heroin so i objected to the needles shit!

ok no worries

junk?ie also junk?y
n. Slang pl. junk?ies

 1. A narcotics addict, especially one using heroin.

I've never heard anyone who isn't a heroin addict called a junkie.
That's just offensive.

...other online dictionaries, most notably the OED (the definitive Engish language reference dictionary) defines junkie as a drug addict, the term is now more generalised that it was a decade or more ago

Hmm. Now don't get me wrong. As to taking sides, I couldn't care less.

But

and anyone who uses drugs is a junkie...there are no exceptions

These seem, to me at least, slightly contradictory...

nope...those that abuse alcohol are alcoholics

And not just in the term change but, more importantly, in that...

Any user of drugs is a junkie, yet you have to abuse alcohol to be an alcoholic? So, what about cigarettes? Oh, and coffee...

Sounds like a get out clause to me.  Tongue

If you're going to make such a bold statement, see it through.

That said, Elvis rules.

Kind of.

maybe i should have qualified that with "drugs that have a negative impact on society" rather than just drugs...but from the debate its pretty much assumed im not talking about aspirin paracetamol or coffee

and your argument only works only if you assume that alcohol is equivalent to any drug which it certainly isnt...

is beer the same as heroin?
is wine the same as marijuana?
is whisky the same as E?

i dont think so

and alcohol in small doses can be good for you, especially wine

So tell me that hard liquor doesn't have negative impact on society? and how is hard liquor not equivalent to marijuana?
