Bone Thugs N' Harmony are fucking awesome. If there is any rap act that I would like to see play with GnR, its them.

Realistically though, I'm pretty sure this is just a cover, not a collab. I remember hearing rumours about this a while back too. I also remember hearing it will be called "Welcome to my jungle".

Wrong! ?There is nothing wrong with a band playing there old tunes. ?Especially when the old stuff WAS and IS really good. ?I would hate to see GNR in concert in the future and have them not play any of there old material. ?Not to say that I'm not excited for the new stuff, but you have to have a mix. ?

Exactly, you have to have a mix.? But I think that when the band is almost completely new, you can't play almost all oldies with a few new songs thrown in.? You know what that makes them?? A virtual cover band.? Motley and KISS can justify playing mostly old stuff because they were on reunion tours and stuff and in that case it's all about nostalgia anyway.? But given the amount of time Axl has had to work on his music and the fact that it's a completely new band, I think that this "mix" should be the other way around.? We should be seeing mostly new songs and a few classics thrown in.

"Hmm..." I can hear you saying.? "But if they play mostly new stuff that the crowd is unfamiliar with, won't people be a little confused and not as excited in concert?"? And my answer is that, in terms of the live experience, you're absolutely right.? So you know how to change that so that people get really pumped up and excited when they play the new songs?

RELEASE THE DAMN ALBUM, AXL!!!

no no no. Welcome to the jungle is a classic...it cant be messed with, changed (well live maybe)

Only GNR can do this song how its ment to be. I am also including the new band, maybe not as good but really only axl can sing this trademark song.

I think that is being close minded being gnr are the ones who have covered so many songs.. They did the entire SI, aero covers, dylan, stones, wings, etc.. I think it's great to see someone doing anything with the songs..

because he's a typical crybaby... lol.  the question he should be asking is why the fuck is he posting on a gnr messageboard? because reading through his posts its obvious he doesn't even like axl rose or the latest guns lineup.. which is what guns n roses is today.   i'll type the ex members names however i want.. those two particular ex-members happen to be suing axl right now all because they are greedy and bitter and would stop at nothing to keep axl from releasing his album under the gnr name.   that and $lash is constantly spewing garbage to the media.

to stay on topic.. i agree with Mr Lee on this one.. jungle is just a song I have no desire to see covered.   I dont see anyone singing this song and it sounding good unless its Axl Rose lol.   His voice made that song.

Bizzy Bone to Cover 'Welcome to the Jungle'

Hip-Hop legend, Bizzy Bone, has told Philly.com that he will be releasing a cover of the Guns N'Roses classic, 'Welcome to the Jungle', this summer.

"There's a lot of my archives and some things never heard before," Bizzy told Philly.com. "I will have a rock and roll album out this summer, doing a remake of 'Welcome To The Jungle' with Guns N' Roses."

Merck Mercuriadis, manager of Guns N'Roses, has told Splat that Axl and co. will not be involved with the project.

Well if Axl is involved, I hope he has gained publishing rights to do the song because as we all know, Axl isn't owner of any of the old material.  Sure, he can play it live... but why do you think he didn't release that DVD of the House Of Blues concert?  Not because of the performance or anything... but because he legally overstepped the mark.

I'm pretty sure that's a misprint. Sometime last year, they did a song that was "Welcome 2 My Jungle" or something like that, and it was an "interpretation" of "Welcome to the Jungle". There were rumors that it would be used as the theme song to last years WWE Wrestlemania 20. HBO aired it as the background music in one of their promos and it sounded alright...

If this news is fake, why hasn't the topic been locked? Doesn't Axl have more things to do than do a previously released song with this band? If Axl wants a rap version of 'Jungle', release the Ice-T version out of the vault.

Here's Layzie (like I said, the Philly article is full of errors and they credited it to Bizzy) talking about it on Hot 97 late last month:

I read this news on www.sohh.com.

"On a side note, Layzie Bone is prepping a rock project that features a remake of Pink Floyd's "Money" and Guns N Roses' "Welcome To The Jungle." The latter song reunites Guns lead singer Axl Rose and guitarist Slash, who is now a part of Grammy-nominated group Velvet Revolver"

Im not sure what this is implying, hopefully will hear more on this soon

Ahhhh, you linked me to a hip-hop site, undo, undo, undo? Shocked

There are a couple of threads about this already, I didn't know Slash and Axl were going to hook up for this.
I hope Izzy will join them

This is a cover of the original song, its just the first 20 seconds of welcome to the jungle looped over and over again, the bit where axl scratches his voice before the main riff kicks in, its not a new recording:

This is the live version, its crappy quality but you pretty much get the idea.
