You guys don't think the bandmembers confronting Axl would speed up release of CD? Without them, Axl has nothing. If they quit, he would be forced to start over. So as far as i'm concerned, the other members have some leverage, and I think its about time they used it.

No, I really don't. Cause I think Axl could just easily say, "Screw it!", "I'm done with this!", "I'm threw!", "It's over with!". And take his music and never let it see the light of day.

Drew, I understand your point but I think its a risk worth taking. Look how many years we've waited. And there is no end to this wait in sight. The new article talking about a September release is just another rumour or outright lie. We've been down this road many times. September turns into December and then December turns into March and then back to September again. A neverending cycle. At some point the bandmembers are gonna reach their boiling point. And I would prefer they reach that point now instead of 3 years from now. I doubt Axl is gonna release this on his own free will. Its gonna take a mutiny from the band or a forced release from the record company for CD to ever see the light of day.

I don't think the band members need to do this. The press are beginning to do it for them. The Times has a large circulation in the UK, and the latest article must have hurt  crying I sincerely hope they are fuelling his energy for greatest ever comeback in rock n' roll history.  drool

If its not, then maybe he should give up.  Cry

In my opinion the media doesn't get on his case enough. Besides the 2 recent articles the media has basically ignored him. The talk about the media hating Axl is largely a myth. If they wanted to, they could make jokes and insults about him all the time. But they dont. I think they give him the benefit of the doubt. Just because a few reporters slammed Axl back in the early 90's doesn't mean there's a worldwide conspiracy against Axl. Maybe some reporter will write a book called 'The Unmaking of Chinese Democracy' and show the world what a farce this whole thing is. And then with added pressure, he will finally release it. I just don't understand his reluctance to release it. It just doesn't make any sense.

When it's ready it will be released. Period.

If you can't wait, you know what to do.

Yeah, i've been waiting 14 years for this album. I'm not ready to give up yet. But I don't know how many more years I can wait like this. With my luck, i'll die and then the day after I die CD will be released. Or on the day of its release I'll die as I'm walking over to the counter to buy it.LOL!!

Whatever, jameslofton29.
All your arguments are full of inconsistencies.
In another thread You say you think the label rejected CD during the 2002 tour. In the other one, you're sure that There's no big gun. If so, you shouldn't consider it's up to him, should you?

So why do you urge an ultimatum here.

Taz, can you explain me how an ultimatum could have an effect on the release when it was not up to Axl?
What difference could it make?
Sounds Utter nonsense to me.

Why should they get on his case more? This isnt 1991. Rock music is pretty much dead. GNR for the most part to most people outside of the internet is dead. I dont see why anyone would think mainstream media thinks axl rose is some important person?

The man hasnt done much of anything in 10 years .. you cant just rest on your laurels forever can you?

I'm sure he'll get his due press when and if he does "something" but until then people who are actually doing things like touring and releasing albums , singles and videos will get the press.

Right now to alot of people axl rose is a long running joke with no punchline and it's up to him to change that.

You know, Axl once said while making the Estranged video that if he wanted to, he could just buy the music video and keep it for himself.  Maybe he's doing it for this album...

Yeah, I like the mass suicide idea.  Lets select a few members from this board to do it.  If we select the right few then the intelligence level of this board will increase dramatically.  Jim Bob, for example, would be an excellent candidate.
