This has been more intense, more exciting and more satisfying than I imagined."

This has to be my favorite Matt Sorum interview. He doesn't come off as the arrogant 45 year old who brags about bunking with 19 year old strippers like he usually does. He is very down to earth here and makes some great points. And I totally agree about the need for a new Led Zeppelin type band. And I even agree about Jet, I enjoyed the album but then...eh.
And i'm happy he explained why they still perform GNR and STP covers, because they aren't denying who they were and they love the songs.

Excellent interview. I love this side of Matt. Like Rhythm-n-Booze  said,  no arrogance or ramping about groupies.

As for the state of music,  Matt stole the words right out of mouth. Today's music scene "Bores Me" too.

Thanks for posting the article GypsySoul,

Books are useless! I only ever read one book, ?To Kill A Mockingbird,? and it gave me absolutely no insight on how to kill mockingbirds.

dead on R-n-B!!
I usually find myself rubbing my eyes and thinking 'No Mat nooooo' when I read those interviews where he's bragging about snorting half of Colombia and porking half of the worlds women under 20.  That shit is lame for a grown man.
By all accounts he is a great guy. My mother sat beside him and Ian Ashbury from The Cult on a flight from UK to Ireland once years ago. She had no idea who they were (she was 55 at the time). She came through arrivals chatting to both of them, my sister almost had a heart attach being such a big Cult fan and all. They introduced themselves to her and my father and were super nice. They never even told my mother what they did, just shot the breeze the whole flight.
peace,
Intercourse.
