I don't understand why some people have a hard time believing this article. It's the same ol' crap we hear from Tommy or Dizzy every few months. I'm certainly not shocked to hear it yet again, for the 1001 time.

"You know, it'll come out probably sooner than later, I can just about assure you," he said. "I've been told as much, anyway. Without giving a date, it'll be sooner than hell freezing over."

Just look at that quote? How hard is he trying to give fans hope, but not promising anything? It's the same crap that has been said the last 12 months from him.
It's obvious that he's just obeying orders and trying to cover up for Axl's lack
of motivation. "Sooner rather than later" tommy is going to get fed up with Axl's
psychosis, too and then they're really going to be in trouble.

It's so sad that the new band members and the fans care more about the band
and  the album than Axl does. Legal issues aside, the only reasonable explanation is
that Axl is incredibly moody and lazy. Otherwise, this album could have come out any
number of times in the past 5 years.

Youve missed the point.

So, you think the newspaper invented Tommys quote?

CD will not be out in 05...  scratch that, EVER.

If Axl has had time to do some voice work for a stinking video game, but has not finished the vocals for his materpiece that he has been working on for at least 5 years, I have to deduce that he does not want to release it.

oh boy.... Roll Eyes

I hate myself for caring more than I hate anyone else for causing me disappointment.

It's a funny, cursed thing, this literal obsession with following the ever-delayed release of Chinese Democracy.

I think the album will suck. Think about it people, hes been working on this for a long long long long time. And he still must be unhappy with it, or it would be released by now. He's been out of the game so long he doesnt know how to write good stuff anymore. I bet 90% of his lyrics are about his dumb lawyers and old problems. He has said B4 that he writes about what has gone on in his life, and the songs are real. Just look at the old material. He's stuck, he cant think of anything good to write about or stuff that will sell. And it could also be the fact that he sounds like a 12 year old girl. Maybe he is waiting for his voice to get better or something. Who knows. Well that is all.

"I've been told as much anyway"- assuming this is true, he's been told something, but maybe he can't say what it is, or doesn't want to say what it is, in case anything changes.

"Without giving a date..."- same concept. IF there IS a date, and Tommy knows it, he might not want to say it specifically. Things change all of the time, we all know that by now. If he says 'the CD will be out on xyz', and something happens, then just imagine the crap that will fly. It'll be worse than now. OR, maybe he doesn't know the specific date. Who knows what he knows?? Could be no more than we know. Or he could know everything and not want to jinx it. We have to wait no matter what he or anyone else says. Even if someone comes out and says, 'the CD will definately, positivily be out on this date', everyone will have to wait anyway.

What could possibly be left to finish on a record that has been at least, oh, a decade in the works? Some vocal parts and mixes, Stinson said.
"You know, it'll come out probably sooner than later, I can just about assure you," he said.

do you remember what axl said about writing the lyrics for coma? it took him a long time to write something to the music.
under the asumption that there will be three albums, i absolutely think (without proof) that CD is definitely finished, but axl still has to work out stuff for the third album, since he maybe needs some lyrics to write. and because he wants to have perfect lyrics it'll take more time.

Denial is more than just a river in Egypt you know  hihi
Seriously though, people need to stop with this 3 albums nonsense, let's be realistic here. Axl may have a stack of material but I seriously doubt he would wait until he has 3 albums COMPLETELY finished before releasing CD. If this was the case, knowing how Axl is,  after CD comes out he would go back to the other two albums and pick them apart some more because they're just not perfect enough or sound outdated. Maybe CD is going to be a double album, that could be the case but this 3 albums thing just doesn't sound right to me, I mean we've waited long enough, we just want one for God's sake! If he had 3 then surely he would put one out for us to shut us up!

My absolute and honest opinion? Tommy really doesn't really give a shit at this point. He's probably sick of being asked. It has been so long and he can keep doing his own thing until something finally happens (which up until now has been very little). Until there is some sign from Axl and the record company that there is actually something to release he will keep giving out the same vague runaround answers that he usually gives and then go back to his own business.

Until something (anything) happens GNR is just pissing in the wind. Tommy has no control over when this will come out (if ever), so why would be beat himself up over it? He's in a good space where he can put his energy into his own stuff until the GNR camp gets it act together.

Excellent post Michaelvincent. ok

Exactly my feelings. I have no idea why people continue to get CD erections everytime Reed or Stinson blubber out another vague "almost done" or "wrapping it up". The fact is we'll probably know when CD is coming out before they do. Face it- those guys obviously have ZERO decision making power with regards to this band and are thus not a good source on anything until Axl gives them their directives. I love the new "band"- but at the end of the day they're nothing more than employees. Even Popcorn was not this far out of the loop back in the day.

Why is there still no CD? Axl Rose. Who knows when CD will come out if ever? Axl Rose. I suggest everyone chills the fvck out until Bill Bailey makes an announcement. The rest is BS.
