Sloppily written- but I think they're basically just trying to say that Axl has now decided not to talk to the media at all about the project until it's done.

Meanwhile, I hope I'm wrong, but the consistent stream of "almost done's" and "soon's" we get from Stinson, Finck and Reed are sounding more and more like people complying with contractual obligations to keep their mouths shut than anything we should be getting our hopes up about. nervous

its never going to come out... axl needs to stop fucking with people .. he has no plans to release any album or any new tours.... i would say hes just all talk but that wouldnt be correct... he sure talked alot almost 3 years ago when he was onstage in europe throwing a fit coz they wouldnt let him sing November Rain for the 10,00000th time...

Now Now, do like Uncle Axl said, live your life, don't stand around waiting for cd..  hihi Remember he doesn';t owe you anything, when it comes out it will come out, wether through death, through geffen forcing it out, or whatever.. It may be 2103, but it will come out..

WHy would someone who didn't give a name say axl doesn't show up to the studio?

For now, yes there is, but ask me again in January and I may have lost all hope. Its not going to stop me having a great christmas, but I will I have a great new year if there is something to look forward to....which is what its all about isn't it? Axl and several people say 'live your life', but some of the appeal about Chinese Democracy is the anticipation of what its going to be like...

I was thinking about this last night watching some random documentary on George Micheal on BBC 1. He was talking about how he didn't like to be in the limelight, but still enjoyed making music and wanted to try and live a life where he could do both....but then he made a comment about how he realised how important tv was in telling the world your record is out there. I wander if the record IS released, whether it will fail purely and simply because the man everyone wants to hear from (Axl), will hide away and let the others do the talking. If he is committed to releasing a serious record, I really feel he needs to start telling people a little about it, how passionate he still is about music, what its going to be like and...yes, roughly when its gonna be out.

Otherwise I feel he should just let us all get on with our lives by announcing that Chinese Democracy will never see the light of day or at least not for five years or so.

Thanks for the info. Yep, Any press is good press.

Since there?s no insider in the world of GNR, this story must be another matter for speculations.

Anyhow I always feel dubious about this contractual not-to-talk obligation thingy. Isn?t it customary for any contract to include an obligation to keep the business secret confidential in the line of duty? What?s the big deal?

One thing about this article that you can only know if you have a copy of the magazine is that there is a production date listed for each of these projects.

The production date listed for CD is 1996.

1996?  The album's title wasn't announced until '99.  Apart from Axl and Dizzy, no one in the band now was around then.

Personally, I think that undermines the credibility and/or accuracy of the tidbit on GN'R.

Regardless there's no info for the past nine months, and nothing really for 2 years and no album since the 90's, so even though their dates are wrong doesn't mean what was told is.. Wink

I think he at least owes a statement of what's going on these days.  Did you hear about the December 5th e-mail bomb to Interscope records in order to get some news/statement?

No, it doesn't necessarily mean that their info is wrong. ?I just think that when you have multiple mistakes, it can only undermine the credibility of what they report. ?It certainly doesn't make me have more faith in what they report.

I guess that a lot of it depends on your views of Axl Rose. ?I would rather believe Tommy Stinson when he tells Jarmo that it isn't like Axl has been sitting in his house watching T.V. this whole time, than some "unnamed source" who says he rarely showed up to work in the recording studio.

But, that's just me.

I don't understand why a reporter doesn't do some real investigative reporting to find out what the hell the hold up is.

Pretty funny Mr. Adz.  I wasn't planning on it just asked if you heard what was going on with it.  Hopefully people are not going to do this, it will prolong any news!
