It's better to burn out than to fade away...

« on: November 04, 2004, 11:42:06 PM »

I just downloaded this track from Kazaa, which is the Van Halen song "5150", and it says that it was performed by Van Halen with Axl Rose.  Well, I listened to the track and it does sound a little bit like Axl.  Does anyone know if this is the real deal?  Did Axl ever perform with Van Halen?

I downloaded the same song a while back and there are some parts that sounds like Axl. I don't think it's him, otherwise it would have been listed as other colaborations with other artists, but the part in the chorus where "Axl" sings:

Take the lights....
Oh, Why draw the line
Meet you half the way

It sounds like Axl and at the end of the song where he says "alright, thank you" if that's not Axl's voice then who the hell is it? It's not David Lee Roth's.

Hi, I usually lurk the forums and post rarely but I want to clear the confusion.

It's a cover band named "Charge" and is NOT Axl.

Read about it at http://www.vhtrading.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=16267&highlight=axl+rose#16267

Yeah, it's a coverband, and besides, 5150 was a Hagar song, off the first album they did with him singing. Not surprisingly, he was so bland casual listeners can't even remember his songs.  hihi

Says YOU.  Van Hagar was just as good as DLR-era Van Halen, just in a different way.  5150 is a great album.  ok

Since the answer is "NO" and we really don't need a VH topic in the GN'R section, this one gets locked.
