Here Today...

« on: October 12, 2004, 10:59:57 PM »

I was just watching the Yankee/Red Sox game and they had some singer come out during the 7th inning stretch and sing "God Bless America".? I coudn't help but think how fucking amazing it would be if during a Yankee game, they invited Axl to come sing either the "National Anthem" or "God Bless America".? It's pretty obvious that Axl is pretty well liked in New York and he himself likes it as well.? I just think that would be so awesome if Axl were to do something like that (at any sporting event for that matter).? I could just see it right now, when he is introduced, the fans go crazy.? During his performance, all the players would just be in awe and staring at him (because we all know how well Sports and Rock N Roll go together.? Rock Stars want to be athletes, and Athletes want to be Rock Stars).? And the best thing, would be to see how he would put his own little twist on something like "God Bless America".? Would he have a little snake dance going on?? lol hihi?

Anyhow, where would you guys like to see Axl have a rare performance?? This has got to be mine since I'm a baseball nut.?

peace and rock on!? ?

No offence but it would be terrible if Axl did something so lame.

I'm sure all the black and latin players would be in awe of axl rose :hihi:I don't want to hear axl rose sing the national anthem.. I think it would be cool to hear an electric guitar version like hendrix or mustane...

Who says new york loves axl rose anyways?

Well, when your concert sells out in 15 minutes, I would say that people in New York are pretty fond of you.? Axl has also mentioned how he loves New York, and has played accoustic sets and concerts there in the past.  Also, some of you may think it is lame, but Ozzy did that same thing last year at a Chicago Cubs game, and it was the highlight of the night on Sports Center.? He sang from up in the press box and all the players were turned trying to see him.?

The concert sold out quick because sites/scalpers buy the tickets then sell them.... I live in nyc.. I was there, you go outside the garden to events & someone is selling blocks of ticket..as for ozzy he's more of a goof now

It'd be cool if Axl and co. did a limited acoustic pub tour, similar to what Tommy is doing at the moment

That way he could mingle with fans

I don't mean to be an asshole, but from my side of the Atlantic baseball seems the gayest most retarded sport on this fuckin planet.

Now on topic,I don't think there will be any Axl performances any time soon, just Guns N' Roses performances.

Yeah, I know what you meen.  Kinda like Soccer over here, or what you might call "football".  I guess it's just a matter of where you were raised.

Thats is why they call it America's past time we dont care what other countries think. If you were American you would love baseball. Whats so gay about it? I would chringe to hear Axl sing God Bless America, or the National Anthem. His vocals are way to high for that. He would get trashed big time by the media for it. I would love to see Guns perform as an opening band for the World Series, Super Bowl or etc. I couldnt see them doing the Super Bowl halftime with it being way to over produced.

My idea for a 'rare' Axl performance would be to orgainse an interview with Jarmo, and announce the release date for Chinese Democracy exclusively to HTGTH!

I would be brickin it if I was Jarmo!

Seriously, I think he should do a few more Las Vegas style appearances. Each time keep playing a few songs of CD, build up the rumours and then BAM - there you have it a new album in the stores

Sorry, I'm daydreaming.

It's funny how I actually thought of this idea a couple of weeks ago about Axl or rock musicians singing the National Anthem, or God Bless America at one of the baseball playoff games.  Now, in the last couple games of the World Series, Steven Tyler and Scott Stapp have sung God Bless America.  Do these guys read the GNR forum?    lol..

Singing at sporting events and presidential swearing in parties is lame.  And Vegas is too glam, go to New Orleans.

Now Europe is cool.  Actually any where outside the US is suited to the international star Axl is and has real class.

Whatever Axl does he needs to talk.  He's very entertaining.  That video game was brilliant!
