Have any of you guys played this game? I just bought it last night. I was playing online deathmatches and capture the flag, and in most of the rooms it was bots instead of real people. Is the game usually like this? I have no desire to play against bots. Isn't the purpose of online gaming is playing against real people? Did most people who play it just move on to newer games? Its really frustrating! rant

Wow, welcome to 1998 Grin I'd imagine the original Half-life's deathmatch isn't that popular anymore, but the Counter-Strike 1.6 mod still has players even this day. Maybe you should try the sequel?

Agreed.  Half life 2 is amazing.  It's one of the most gorgeous looking games made to date.  The controls are so smooth and the AI is smart as hell.  Even the first Half Life is considered to be one of the best FPS of all time by many people.  If your computer can handle it, try getting Half Life 2 next.  Its definitely worth it!!

I already have Steam. I had to download it to be able to play Half Life online. It shows all the servers for counterstrike, but I didn't buy that game. Can I play Counterstrike for free, or do I have to buy it? I've always wanted to play that game. I almost bought it when I bought Half Life.

Huh? You can play the original Counter-Strike for free if you have the Half-Life CD key. Where did you get this info on "5 or 6 games"?

mmmmmm info is thats what im doing for ages...... the games are any vlave games based off the orgional HL engine

Half Life
Day of Defeat 1.3 (non source)
Counterstrike 1.6 (non source)
Half Life: Blue shift
Opposing Force
Deathmatch Classic
Ricochet
Team Fortress Classic

not sure about codename Gordon but i beleive that one is included as well

so that would give you a total of 9 games from the orgional Half Life CD key

Alright, I just didn't get what you meant.. I thought you were talking about a trial version there, that allows you play the game 5 or 6 times. Your output is a bit confusing, to say the least.
