He did.
Didnt he say, they asked him to play slash leads?

Billy Morrison attempting a Slash solo is pretty funny!!! I've always said that I am 100% Steve Jones, NOT Steve Vai!! (For the non-players reading this, that means that I am primarily a rhythm player, not a lead player)"

He didn't go in.

He just assumed they wanted him to play leads

How do you know he assumed?
Did you hear the phone call?
The way he is talking, it looks like they asked him to play lead.

he never says lead, he says they wanted me to come in as a guitarist.
Then in the 3rd person he's joking he can't play a slash solo.
No where he says they wanted him to play lead. You assume that.

And truly, Billy wouldn't of been that bad, he was really good when i saw him

It's been 14 years of silence...

I can't see Axl re-doing BH's parts on the album.

See, the thing is, I don't think they would have to. Allegedly there are mutliple versions of most/all of the songs, so it's possible that each of the songs was done a few times with a different player on lead, in case the situation would arise that someone would leave. Just speculation on my part... though I think it would make sense.

IamRyanDean: Axl just walked out on stage, dropped his pants, pissed all over the front row and then left.  mumbled somethign about "how is that for a leak fuckers"

Axl has hundreds of hours of tape with guitar riffs, melodys, contributed by dozens of people. Thats where CD gets alot of music from. Bucketheads parts might not be irreplacable, because its possible he didnt write much of it. It could be anyones riff that Axl or the rest of the band decided to use.

Ps axl SHOULD call paul gilbert or steve vai
NO no no no and no! Guns n' Roses doesn't need a Metal guitarist. This is not the sound of this band:
Guns N ' Roses is a ROCK N ROLL band. Fortus is the man.

Lol u honestly believe either of those, especially Vai, couldn't fill whatever role was needed and also exceel in it? We ain't talkin' about average guitarists here.

As for auditioning a bassist.....maybe's Tommy's out?

That's why he says that CD is closer to be completed than ever. remember, Axl said after BH's department that it'd help GN'R to take the album to another level and there would be a release date 'in the next few months'. Maybe after every member has left, Axl will release CD  Grin

As someone already stated, there is a big possibilty of a tour coming up soon. Maybe within the next 3-4 months. This is the first time since Bucket left we've heard Axl has been or is currently auditioning guitarists. I don't think Axl wants to hire another guitarist and record his parts for the new album ( this will delay the album another year). Maybe we will have a tour after new year?
