Well, Papa Roach is on Geffen now, so they might have access to this kind of information.  I wouldn't read into it too much, though.

I also know theres some sort of papa roach/gnr connection regarding either a guitarist or someone who worked with PR and GNR....anyone remember?

Exactly.  "I heard a rumour that the album will come out before the end of the year?"  The guy was just trying to make conversation with the interviewer.  It's nothing.

Only a hardcore fan would know that Papa Roach played that night.  I just have the tape of GN'R playing the best show of the new band's era that night in Rio.

There's a connection - I heard that it was Axl who asked the Rio promoters to get Papa Roach there.

Members of Papa Roach have personally heard parts of CD at Axl's house.  They went to some of his party's in 2000/2001 timeframe.  I think one of them introduced Axl to Buckethead if I what I have heard out West is correct.

Yes, thats the story I was trying to remember. I also think an engineer from Papa Roach was also involved with GNr.....not sure about the bucket thing though
