Maybe they did guitar arrangements... Or maybe they're trying to put some organic arrangements instead of the old eletronic flavor...
But I still can't imagine a song called Prostitute with an orchestra.  rofl

With all these orchestral arrangements, Falcon is going to shoot somebody. hihi hihi :hihi:This thing is going to be so self indulgent that it will make THE WALL look like Iggy Pop's Raw Power. hihi hihi

Madagas, you always start my day off with some great humour.....much appreciated....Unfortunately for us as fans though, i believe you're right on the money...This is very similar to the mid-late 70's, when every fooking musician thought they were a  symphonic composer...

Anyone else think this could end up being a double album? I mean by the sounds of it they have more than enough material, bearing in mind some of these songs are bound to be 8 minute ballads. I supose Axl might just save some over like he said for the next album (although he should concentrate on getting CD out first!).
What happened to songs like I.R.S. ( was confirmed by Dizzy) & Rhiad and the bedouins?? Arent they gonna make the final cut?? Fuck it no one knows cept Axl I guess....
My only fear is that this album is going to sound cobbled together and over produced, it'll have some 90's sounding stuff mixed with electronic shit also the amount of people who have come in and worked on this album is ridiculoius. I remember there bein rumours a while ago that even Shaquille O' Neil or Nas might rap on it!!Anyone else remember hearing that?Something like Nas or whoever was in the studio next door. I don't mind rap but I hope there aint no rap on CD.

To me thats the only question I have about CD. WIll they be able to mesh all their great talents and get a distinct sound out of that or will it just be noise. Then I I turn on the songs we have heard and listen to the lil nino second studio clips we have and makes me think everything is going to be just fine. If Axl sound sliek he does on that promo there is absolutely nothing to wrry about in terms of production....

As for the peopel who have worked on the album. For the most part all of these producers, mixers and whoever else were brought in to work on the different type of songs that the band has come up with. So for the rock songs they brought in "x" to work on that, brought in the industrial guy the ballad guy, etc. To me it makes sense....

Yea, Axl brough in Shaq and Nas to rework "It Taste Good, Dont it?"..he wanted a more gansta rap vibe from it.....

UYI was a cobbled together complete mess of an album-no coherent sound. I believe that is why Axl wanted complete control-so he could control the final ultimate album in every detail. He did not have that for UYI-"too many hands on the wheel" as he said . Thus, the cohesiveness of the record should be better for Chinese.  Undecided Undecided

As we have heard so often, ONE of the myriad reasons why this CD has taken so long is because, according to Thomas, Axl wanted each member to unite their disparate talents in order to create a cohesive whole, to ensure that everyone "owned" a piece of the song and that the entire band was collaborating with regard to the material...With everyone's input, to write a song with a structure and sound that everyone agrees upon can be a tedious process...Unless we're having smoke blown up our asses in order to publicly dispel the whole notion of GNR not being a band in the true sense of the word, I think this method will produce a wide array of styles and influences.....I like the idea someone raised earlier in that the large number of producers who have had their paws in the pot on this one will hopefully be logically separated according to genre...This would be awesome in ensuring that each track (or style) has a completely unique vibe and energy...

Axl is the equalizer since he has the ultimate stamp of approval on what he chooses from the "collaboration". Achtung Baby had a mix of styles, but was still a very cohesive record due to Lanois' production. Unfortunately, Axl is an unknown as a producer and is a fairly fractured individual to say the least. It will be interesting to see what comes out.

As far as everyone "knows", Axl is the main producer now?

That is what Tommy told MTV. I am sure he has some VERY experienced help doing the engineering and mixing.

Is that an actual confirmed song title??lol sounds like it should be funny, why am I picturing Axl's 'rap' from Rocket Queen (live in Tokyo) here??! Nas is one of the best MC's in the game that's for sure but I think I would still rather Axl left the hip hop off CD.

Probably because that part in Rocket Queen is part of "It Tastes Good.....".

And no, I don't think it will be on CD.

Damn I hope it isn't on CD!! I love GNR as much as the next man but that little rap part in Rocket Queen (LIVE) was awful!
It would neeed seriously re-working in '04, it sounded out dated even waaaay back then. Am I the only one who would rather NO RAP at all on CD?? I'm all for experimentation in music, bring in the orchestras and all that but I just don't feel rap is needed on CD especially not by Axl himself! If your gonna have the rap on there Axl, leave it to the pro's, your never gonna be the next Rakim!
