As Slash says "WE'VE ALWAYS BEEN THE BACKBONE OF THE BAND" which is true 'cause all of 'em wrote the songs and not just axl, so since there's more original gn'r members in VR than Axl's current gn'r line-up then the answer is FUCKING YEAH VR HAS MORE RIGHTS TO THE GN'R LEGACY!!!!!!!
