I never really had a problem accepting them at all, I remmeber being so excted hearing "oh my god", just cause it was something new from GNR and Axl, AXL ROSE and NEW MATERIAL, I was pumped and celebrated  beer expecting something liek an album in a year, and whiel Ive always been hardcore into GNR even as wee child I had no problem accepting the new band expeacially hearing bootlegs of the new band play because i feel that they do justice to the old stuff and to a legend like slash, and allthough I still miss Slash I was always a bigger axl fan ok

Duff is the man

At first I had some trouble accepting the new line-up.  It was hard to think of Guns N' Roses without guys like Slash and Duff, but when I saw the new line-up in Toronto in 2002, I warmed up to them.

Now I don't think that the band should still be called Guns N' Roses but that's another story....

Became a fan in 1994. Had no fucking idea what was going on in GN'R world. 1997 i understood it was over. 2001 i read about a show that slash was restricted from. 2002 i found the VMA and Nightrain RIR3 on kazaa. I hated it the first day. But then.. it turned over fast as hell. I have totally accepted the new band. I like changes and they have changed in the right direction i think.

I have been accepting the line-up changes that have happened from 1998 and on, when I was starting to follow the details more and more, when OH MY GOD came out and the local radio station played it and had people dissing it I tried calling but I couldnt get through. I like the song, and think it was better then most of the shit roaming around in radio land in 1999. I have accepting everything in the believe good things come to those who wait. I've been waiting a long time and now Im keep it up until that good thing comes. ie CD

I remember when I learnt Guns was to play RIR3 I was so excited to the fact Axl was back.....I didn't get to see that show until just before I saw Guns live in Toronto Canada.....But I saw Guns on t.v. at the VMA's and I was all over my room going nuts. smoking

Richard Fortus, the phenomenon

« Reply #27 on: August 09, 2004, 05:12:35 PM »

it took me nearly 2 years to "accept" them (until Richard Fortus joined the band in fact). However I haven't still acccepted Buckethead and will probably never. He has nothing to do in Guns n' Roses sorry guys...
The 1st time I saw Finck with his horrible goth look I was like " GN'R is not Marylin Manson man! rant".
stinson was ok, good guy.
brain...I don't know why but I can't bear him. I just see him as a mercenary who is here only for the money. without heart and soul. Today he plays for Guns n' Roses, tomorow if he has a 1 million $$ paycheck he will play for the "new kids on the block"...
Richard Fortus helped me a lot to "accept" them because he has this old Guns n' Roses vibe, can't explain that, he is "rock n' roll", he has the attitude, the good vibe, neither goth nor industrial or all these ridiculous things he is just a Rock guitar player and that's what I like. Definitely my favourite "new" band member so far (stinson is not very far too).

I love the sound of the band. It has always impressed me  Shocked but once again BUCKETHEAD doesn't play the Guns n' Roses guitar solos as Guns n' Roses guitar solos. Someone should explain him that the goal is not to play them at 1000 miles/H but to play them with feeling. Roll Eyes
So for me: great musicians, probably great music, but not a "real" band, just a buch of talented guys add each other. just individualities, but yeah great potencial!? ok

It diddn`t seem like all of the sudden there was a new band since I followed the evolution of the band from when they were the original lineup to the lineup we have today, hearing about Paul coming on board, then Slash leaving, then Matt & Duff leaving, then Robin and Tommy  coming into the fold....you get the idea. I kept my eye on all the guitar / music mags for any shread of news. BAck to the subject. I completely accepted the new lineup since I was looking forward to hearing a more modern sounding GNR.

For me the Human vibe is as important as the music vibe. I do care of their attitude, their look, their feeling, their chemistry...it's part of the thing for me. I like to capt the soul of a band. It's like a football team do you see what I mean? you could have the best players in the world with amazing paychecks... but it doesn't mean it will make a good team because the human factor is absolutely essential.

Yes I did. I wanted to see this band grow. I love what they have brought in.
I wasn't really hooked til I saw rock in rio. Then I went to the joint shows. I was blown away. I will never ?? why Axl got these guys. To me its easy to see. Can't wait to see them again. And hope to see some of you there too!!!

I think it's more difficult for an "old" fan to accept them because of the past. the new fans will be totally ok in my opinion. I do think the album "chinese democracy" will be a fantastic success and will bring lots of new fans.
I always try to be optimistic.
