Richard Fortus, the phenomenon

don't you think that the "indus-rock" style is over today? don't you think it's "has-been" and that it was just a marginal type of music of the mid-90's?
I really feel that people come back to a blues-rock vibe nowadays, a kind of "classic-rock" music style like Rock n' Roll has always been. Just classic-Rock. I hope it could be a clue for Axl, I hope "chinese democracy" will have this blues-rock vibe and won't be an Indus record. Ihaven't waited for 10 years to listen to an entire Indus album! no way!
What do you think?

That is the whole problem with Axl's 'plan of attack' when making Chinese Democracy. Trends change..........

Rock and Roll is based on the Blues.
Rock and Roll will always return to its roots. Think about Appetite for Destruction, that was the album that returned rock to it's 'Blues Rock' roots durring a time of 'Glam Rock or Pop Rock'
All of these other 'genres' are fads..........Rap Rock, Idustrial Rock, Glam Rock, They all fade away and we are returned to Blues.

To me Axl is too smart to try and change his sound to be 'in'. Think about bands with longevity: Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, etc.......... They are always looked upon as the greatest bands of all time, because they stuck to the roots of Blues Rock. When all is said and done 25 years from now people aren't going to be saying "this is a great Korn album" or "Billy do you think I can copy your Dad's Incubus CD?"

This is why Axl will never release CD....because times are always going to change and he needs to feel like he's keeping up with the trends. I mean, For Christs Sake, he's a 42 year old man running around in braids, baggy pants, oversized football jerseys, and those horrible looking L.L. Cool J. hats......

I still think "Achtung Baby" is U2's best album. It was released in 1991 and it's got some industrial influences, but it's not an industrial album.

I've said it before, what U2 did going from "The Joshua Tree" to "Achtung Baby" was amazing. If GN'R can do something even remotely similar, I'll be happy.

Does that answer your question?

You keep saying that in every post, but everything we have heard fro this band since 1999 says otherwise.

Oh My God: sounds nothing like AFD
Silk Worms: Sounds nothing like AFD
Chinese Democracy: Closest song to AFD, but not that close (Too Industrial Feeling)
The Blues: Best Songs of the Bunch that we've heard (Very UYI)
Madagascar: Coma meets estranged, has a UYI feel, still far from you AFD prediction
Rhiad: Up in the air on this......sounds like it could sneak into the track listing on UYI but to me it still has a synth heavy feel

With the exception of Silk Worms all of the songs are good tracks, but nothing like appetite.

I think all the songs, except maybe Silk Worms, are great songs. They all kick ass. For me, this doesnt have to sound like Appetite or the UYI's as long as I can still tell its GN'R. And with what I heard, thats what this album is gonna sound like, just like Axl said, songs that might have different styles than before, but still touch on GN'R's roots. I have no doubts about this album. Axl rules!!!!!
