Rolling Rock Town Fair Five Marks the First Time VELVET REVOLVER Headlines a Major Festival
LATROBE, Pa., May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Rolling Rock's getting ready to rock Westmoreland Fairgrounds for its fifth anniversary and VELVET REVOLVER will be center stage to shake it up. Not only is the country's most anticipated one day music festival going back home to its Latrobe, PA roots, but Rolling Rock Town Fair marks the first time VELVET REVOLVER headlines a major festival. Tickets are on sale now.
VELVET REVOLVER brings together charismatic frontman Scott Weiland, formerly of Stone Temple Pilots, as well as guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan and drummer Matt Sorum from Guns N' Roses with guitarist Dave Kushner of ex-Wasted Youth, Electric Love Hogs and Dave Navarro's band, among others.
VELVET REVOLVER will jump-start the June 8 release of their much-anticipated debut album CONTRABAND (RCA) with their first-ever tour. "Slither," the album's first single, exploded at radio in its first week of release, airing on over 130 stations. The song was #1 most added at modern rock, active rock and mainstream rock stations across the country. It's already Top 5 on the Mainstream, Modern and Active Rock charts.
VELVET REVOLVER joins Rolling Rock Town Fair Five at the Westmoreland Fairgrounds in Western Pennsylvania on July 31, 2004 with an all star line-up of Staind, Disturbed, N.E.R.D., The Crystal Method, Hoobastank, Sevendust, Finch, Finger Eleven, Three Days Grace and more.
Tickets for the show are just $49 for a whole day of wall-to-wall music and are on sale at Ticketmaster outlets, Ticketmaster.com, RollingRock.com and by calling 1-877-9LATROBE. On-site parking for the show can be purchased on Ticketmaster for $5.
To celebrate an impressive fifth year on the concert scene, Rolling Rock decided to share the love with some of its top cities by bringing a "travel-sized" version of its hugely popular Rolling Rock Town Fair, chock-full of smashing, alternative rock. The regional Rolling Rock Town Fair features the cities' local flavor bands, in addition to big name bands. The circuit starts in Boston at Suffolk Downs on June 12 with Sevendust, Finch, Three Days Grace, Thornley and Boston's own Throe; then it heads to Philadelphia's Festival Pier at Penn's Landing on June 19 with Sevendust, Finch, Finger Eleven, Three Days Grace and Philly's own Octane; and it cruises to Seattle at King County Fairgrounds, on June 26 with Sevendust, Finch, Finger Eleven and more. The show crescendos in its nostalgic hometown -- Westmoreland Fairgrounds -- for an all day dose of music and the true Rolling Rock Town Fair vibe.
The Rolling Rock Town Fair has gained a reputation for delivering the most sought after bands of today, as well as up-and-coming and regional bands. In fact, Rolling Rock is so dedicated to the up-and-comers that it has slotted each of its cities' favorite local bands to open for its shows.
Rolling Rock Town Fair has been a smashing success since it first rocked Latrobe in 2000. Rolling Rock brand executives attribute the concert's popularity to the enthusiasm of its loyal fans and its heavy hitting line-up of bands, which in the past have included: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Moby, Stone Temple Pilots, Incubus, Deftones, Live, Fuel, Outkast, Nickelback, POD, Blink 182, Puddle of Mudd, Tommy Lee, Godsmack, Def Leppard, 311, Sum 41, Trapt and many more.
Rolling Rock(TM) brewed in Latrobe, PA since 1939 is one of America's finest high-quality lagers. Its longneck green bottle and painted label including horse head, steeplechase, pledge of quality and mysterious "33", capture the proud brewing heritage of Latrobe Brewing Company. Today, Rolling Rock is the #2 domestic specialty beer in the U.S. according to Nielsen and is the official beer and a founding partner of Heinz Field, the home of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
