I was recently watching some concert footage from the last tour in 2002. Been awhile since I have seen it. It re affirmed to me how talented each member of the new band is and what they bring to the table. This is NOT Axl and the hired guns. This is evident in the new material. Have faith fellow gunners. Axl will get his shit together! If not, Chinese Democracy would be a mythic great lost album. Hope thats not the case. Wonder how much patience the record label has at this point?

Nice to see the gansta pimp language crap is fixed!

However I did have some fun with it!

I don't know how sad it will be, but there will not be a GN'R album released in 2005...

It would be sad if the album wasn't out by 2005, but it wouldn't be surprising.

I think I might finally give up on the band if I don't get C.D. this year.

See ya then!

You cant be a proper fan if you give up on the band you love!! Of course I get frustrated like everyone else waiting for the album cos we are all so desperate to hear it! But you cant give up on it! Just get on with your own life and it will come! But as I have said a lot over the last few months! Chinese Democracy will be out in 2005!!

It wouldn't be surprising. But dissapointing and sad in the sense that with every year that passes. A whole new weight of pressure is added. It has almost too much to live up too. It's going to be seen as Axl's over indulgence whatever happens.

NIN take about 5 years between albums and people/critics see that as too long, but ?at least there's a movement there something to show fans some progress. ?

The fact remains that the other members in GNR, remain hired hands because they have no say over when this album is coming out. ?

Axl must get bored/frustrated ?at times too because ?he must have had these ideas running in his head for this Chinese democracy for too long and I bet it will be a weight off his shoulders - i hope, when it does finally come out.

And i can't understand people who say they will give up on them if it's not out this year .? I understand the frustration. But it's all up to Axl when this thing is going to come out. He is a musician not a product. ?And  I will be there when it comes out because i love Axl's/& GN'R's work to date and i can't see that changing.? What I really hope? for though, is that Axl doesn't waste? anymore years because he has such talent and needs to be kicking ass.? A few live shows or festivals a year would have kept fans ticking over until the record was ready imo.

That's true. People say that every year, and then the next year its "one more year and I'm givin up". Face it, you're not gonna give up, you're just sayin that. And then what if it comes out next year, you wont get it because you've "given up"

I've pretty much given up in so much as I really have no expectation of CD being released at any time in the short term.  That doesn't mean that I wouldn't buy it if it does get released 20 years from now.  I'm just tired of getting my hopes up and looking at the the misleading statements from Axl's employees.  I think alot of people are feeling like that, we're just tired of it.

If that CD doesn't come out,  Axl will be losing money year after year, Axl loves money so don't count your chickens before the eggs hatch.

Nothing.

« Reply #15 on: May 01, 2005, 10:54:19 AM »

For me, it wouldn't be any harder than its not being released in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, or 2004. Nor would it be any more difficult than the seven year dead pool that occurred between 1993 and 2000. Veterans of this situation won't be surprised we start hearing Dizzy or Tommy talk about a spring '06 release, or even when that prognostication goes by without a peep from Axl.

The fact that the new GNR is such a talented and awesome band would be a great loss to music if nothing happens with them.
