Everyone knows that studio time costs a shitload.

When Axl made his agreement with the label, maybe it occured to
him how he could abuse it and milk it for much more.

In other words, maybe he's got this grand scheme to create
as many songs as possible (or frameworks of) at the
labels cost, then after CD gets released:

Axl starts his own label, spends a minimul amount finalizing his
other songs (maybe 2 more albums worth), then reaps
all the rewards at labels expense.

But then again, I suppose Axl could just have bought his own studio.

Axl won't make his own label.  If he wants his own label he would of had it already.  Just think of Axl having his own label.  Who would tell him he is taking too long and pressure him?  Nobody, it take a lifetime to release anything.

Having is own record label would ruin Axl. I love the guy, but without the stability of having someone over him, he'd never get anything done, literally.

axl already has a private studio in his basement, and from Moby i believe said in that large article aways back, the ting is wall to wall shelves of scrapted material and song attempts vaulted onto tape. i personally think it'd be awesome if axl had his own record label but obviously that wont ever happen because as someone pointed out in an entirely different thread "axl hates the buisness side of the music industry"
