To be quite honest, I think Duff was and is the most objective and honest  person in GNR.
No, Steven Adler is.

j/k. but Izzy?

I think it's definitely out of Duff and Izzy, but it's hard because even those two are closely linked with either Axl or Slash. Duff does talk alot of sense, but I bet Izzy would be the most level headed out the lot of them, but it's a shame he doesn't do hardly any interviews at all.  Huh

True, but Izzy never hesitated in the past to slam Axl when he felt Axl deserved it.  It's funny, people think the most GNR venom has been exchanged between Slash and Axl, but just read the things Izzy said circa 1992-93.  Izzy spewed more vitriolic words at Axl than any other member of GNR has towards another.  So I don't know that Izzy would hesitate to speak his mind just out of loyalty to Axl.

Quote

"A lot" is two words, but yes, you're right.  (I'd apologize for being pedantic if I were actually sorry.  peace ).

I'd say Izzy is the most level-headed because he's never had anything to gain by lying or distorting the story.  Izzy quit GNR in 1991 and never looked back, never gave a shit what happened one way or another, and still doesn't.  So he doesn't feel any need to "prove" any story to anyone.

Of the remaining four, Duff is the one who -- while assigning blame towards others when needed -- has assumed the most responsibility for his own role in the band's demise.  It took Steven forever to finally apologize to Slash and the others after blaming them for his drug abuse.  I love Slash, but he never seemed to understand the toll his own alcohol/drug abuse had on the band.  Then there is Axl, who is one of rock n roll's most notoriously defensive, finger pointing, buck passing, "it's always someone else's fault" types.

So yeah, I'd rank Izzy first, Duff at a close second.

It's more of a poster than a trailer.

Well, it's a documentary, not a big Hollywood production. Smiley

The interview list looks very interesting, and Duff tells a good story.

Right, show me a trailer of a documentary that looks exciting.  There are no special effects or plot twists.  It all matters if you're interested in the storyline.  And, I am.  So it works for me.

That is one of the more ridiculous things I have ever heard.  There are several entertaining documentary trailers.  Here are two of many:

If anyone can find the trailer for the 'ESPN 30 for 30: The U' please post that.  I am completely anticipating you saying how 'boring' and/or 'trashy' these trailers are.
With all due respect sir, I don't get "excited" due to the content of trailers for documentaries.  If I'm interested in the topic at hand, then I'll most likely be interested in the documentary.  So I stand by my statement.  If you're a big fan of trailers, more power to you.  If you don't care about the story Duff has to tell, more power to you.   beer

There's a big difference between asking to see an exciting trailer than there is in saying you don't get excited by documentary trailers.  Your original statement of saying there were no exciting documentary trailers was ridiculous and I was calling you out on that.  If you said originally that you don't get excited by them then I wouldn't have responded the way I did.  Of course I am interested in Duff's story, probably moreso than you as I am an old GNR fan.  But that trailer was simply a collection of images and words on the screen.  I don't know how you get excited about a trailer with no clips of the actual movie.  You have zero clue what it will be like.

I'm simply excited by the prospects of the project.  I have no clue what it will be like, you're right.  I have no idea how it will be released.  Will it show in theaters?  Straight to DVD?  Air on VH1 Classic?  I have absolutely no clue.  Yet I'm still excited at what it could be and I THINK I'd like to see it.  We'll see when the time comes.  You could show me a fantastic trailer for a movie (in your mind), but if it doesn't connect with me it's not going to do anything to stimulate my mind.  Simple as that.  Nothing more, nothing less.
