The "Iron City Rocks" conducted an interview with Steven Adler on July 15th.

He says in the interview when talking about Celebrity Rehab, Dr. Drew arranged a meeting with Slash because Steven says regarding Slash "I blamed him for 20 years -- I blamed him for all my downfalls."  He says he apologized to Slash saying "which is wrong, he didn't do it to me, I did it to me."

He certainly helped (edit: with his downfalls)...and practically brags about it in his book.   no

Bullshit. He didn't brag about it haha. Steven had a fucked up life to begin with if it wasn't Slash who accompanied him with his drug ventures it would've been someone else. Our world has evolved into a whole blame it on someone else mentality. Lame.

Well, it's good to see Steven taking the responsibility for his own life. I hope he gets better now and stays clean.

Really?  When he brought smack to Steve in rehab, and smashed through a glass door, maybe its not 'bragging' but I don't think he expressed any remorse...certainly nobody's fault but Steve's that he's a trainwreck...but he certainly had a right to be angry that his 'partner' in abuse helped vote him off the island.  Huge fan of individual accountability - but do you really think thats what his Slash love-fest is about?  Yes - Lame...sadly, I will probably still buy the book...and sadly Steven will probably smoke/inject his first royalty check.   smoking

Slash is no more responsible for Steven's downfall than Steven is for the pacemaker in Slash's chest.

From an interview with Steven Adler, he also mentions Slash's "betrayal":

Q. How about when you hear Slash's name?

Steven Adler: It's an honor that we're still friends. I love him more than anything. With Slash, I called him up when I started doing Dr. Drew "Celebrity Rehab." I told Dr. Drew I don't think I'd be able to accomplish and achieve the goals that I have if I didn't have an opportunity to talk to Slash and apologize to him. I apologized to all the guys. For 20 years, I blamed them for my downfall. And they had nothing really to do with it.

Steven seems to really be at a good place in his life. I know he is thrilled to have a close relationship with Slash again, and I think Slash was really trying to help Steven along once he started getting clean. He had him come play with he and Duff at the LAYN and then had him record a track for his album which Steven has said meant alot to him. Hopefully Steven stays on the wagon and makes some more original music with Adler's Appetite.

From another interview...

One of the major issues Adler faced was realizing he needed to stop blaming people for the problems in his life, mainly his issues with Slash. Adler was adamant Slash was the reason he had self-destructed and used him as a scapegoat for his problems. He came to terms with Slash during "Celebrity Rehab," and it has proved him well.

?When I started doing the show, I knew I couldn?t do it fully and honestly without apologizing to Slash,? said Adler. ?I blamed him for all my downfalls in life. He came down to the show and I apologized or blaming him for all the bad things that happened to me because I realized then, it wasn?t him ? it was me! I woke up the next morning after our talk feeling like a totally different person. It was like the most enormous weight was lifted off my shoulders and I really just felt like a new person."
