"Sobriety Sings" - A Day of Peace and Music, October 11

The 24th Annual Musicians Picnic (AMP) returns to The Topanga Community House on October 11, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. This year will be another incredible celebration of sobriety. The music, as always, will be phenomenal with better bands than ever on two stages that rock with music ranging from alternative and psychedelic rock, to just plain old rock ?n roll.

More than two decades ago, The Musicians' Meeting, a 12-step group of sober musicians, started a backyard barbeque and jam session in celebration of sobriety. That intimate gathering of musicians and friends has grown into the West Coast's largest one-day "clean and sober" event. The funds raised are donated to the Grammy's Musicians' Assistance Program, MusiCares/MAP Fund, and the Bob Timmons Foundation. AMP also donates books and literature to 12-step groups who visit hospitals, jails and treatment centers. The Annual Musicians' Picnic is open to all, please come and celebrate with us, but remember no drugs or alcohol are permitted.

Musicians Picnic Shuttle signs will be posted along Topanga Canyon Boulevard. Tickets are available online for $20 ($25 at the gate) and $10 for kids 3-12. For more information please visit the event website http://www.musicianspicnic.org. The Community House is located at 1440 North Topanga Canyon Boulevard, Topanga CA 90290.

Bob T Experience was nothing short of dynamic last year when Slash, formerly of "Guns and Roses," and "Velvet Revolver" Denny Siewell (a founding member of "Wings") and Wayne Kramer of "MC5," all played with the band as a tribute to Bob T. Can't wait to see who will be playing this year.

Edit to add:

# Just jammed with Jason Bonham & his band on a few Zep songs at the Roxy. His sister Zoe sang "Black Dog" & killed it.
