Guns N Roses

Published: Today

YOU?D assume the glossy classical quartet ESCALA would run a mile when confronted by grotty rock titan SLASH, but the unlikely alliance is set to make sweet music.

The former GUNS N? ROSES axeman is going into an LA studio with the Britain?s Got Talent foursome this week ? to record a cover of LED ZEPPELIN classic Kashmir.  The ladies? SyCo Records boss SIMON COWELL cooked up the scheme over cocktails with the guitar genius at ELTON JOHN?s Oscars party in Los Angeles last month.

An insider tells me: ?Simon thinks Slash is incredible and they got on like a house on fire at Elt?s party.  ?He was looking for someone unexpected to work with the girls and asked if he?d be interested.  ?He really liked the idea and jumped at the chance.?

The girls ? TASYA, CHANTAL, VICTORIA and IZZY ? got to the final of Cowell's TV talent contest last year.

They?re currently deep into recording sessions for their debut collection which will also feature covers of SNOW PATROL?s Run, WINGS? Live And Let Die and ROBERT MILES?s Children.  It?s due out on May 25 and, by the looks of things, could be pretty interesting.

And from Slash's MySpace page:

"Next week, however, I'm going to do some guitar work for an instrumental version of Led Zeppelin's 'Kashmir', performed by ESCALA, an all-girl string quartet from the U.K."

I have to admit I like the song, I didn't think I would.
