The London-based International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), which represents the recording industry worldwide, released the sales numbers for 2008 today.
It's worth noting that Chinese Democracy was released in November and in USA physical copies of the album are only available at Best Buy stores.
The top 20 albums worldwide in 2008 are as follows:
