It seems like "Chinese Democracy" is peaking just now or has just peaked at radio.  It's still holding strong at #3 on Mainstream Rock and #8 on Active Rock on All Access, but the increase in spins is less than 10 for each format.  I think that since the single just went on sale last week on iTunes, it's possible that it will move up even higher than #5 on Billboard this week.  I think it will likely go to #3 or so, that's my guess.

But, it seems that the timing of the release of "Better" is perfect, right before the album comes out and just as "Chinese Democracy" is peaking.  It's also much poppier than "Chinese Democracy", so it could have a much longer stay on the charts than "Chinese Democracy".

Good call by the label, management and the band.

I'm not sure that CD has peaked, it just hit the Top 100 and with the album coming out I think it will get some extra spins this week. Most fans are still requesting CD, while some are starting to request Better - IMO this will just do harm to both songs. Most DJs will not play both songs, which obviously means fewer spins for both songs.
It just seems rushed, CD (the single) has been available only for a month (still no video) - and now: no announcement was made about Better in advance, no video, no extra activity to promote 'the hot new single', it's all seems to be just very chaotic and unorganized.
I think they should have pumped CD a bit more (maybe a video!!!) and then released Better properly after a month or two.

ac/dc is up 72-28 after my vote...let's get this going fellow GNR fans!     I am less than 12 hours away.  Un-fucking-believable!  As crazy as it sounds I was almost as pumped for Angel Down.  This is gonna be 10 times "Better."

CT's 95.7 played the title song last night, known for basically playing pop and hip hop. Loving seeing it get out to a newer audience. They played recordings of young girls calling in to request Chinese Democracy. If anyone has a free minute, please e-mail 95.7's Stan Priest and tell him that we need the song more often on the station!

they had a contest to win the cd.and make requests too.i did it all day for ''this i love '' and they never played it.and i didn't win the contest but was # 3 when i called.you had to be # 25 to win.it was on the station in philly wmmr.but they did say they played alot of it.

I received an e-mail today from SiriusXM Octane.  It was a Octane Air Force thing, where they play clips of 30+ songs and ask your opinion on them.  They played "Better" and "Chinese Democracy" back to back.  I gave them both the highest rating possible "love it" and (Are you tired of it) "not at all".  I gave the same rating to Metallica's "Cyanide" and "The Day That Never Comes" too.  I listed "Better" as my favorite Octane song, followed closely by "Chinese Democracy".  I listed "I Hate My Life" by Theory of a Deadman as my least favorite Octane song.  Hopefully other members of the Octane Air Force are kind to the GNR songs.

Oh, I also answered the question, "how would you improve Octane?" with, play more Guns N' Roses.

I finally heard "Better" on the radio, for the first time, yesterday. It was on 97.7 HTZ FM

I still haven't heard it on The Edge though & I've requested it numerous times.
