Battleground Earth is the name of yet another new series set to debut on Discovery?s Planet Green network. The show is 10-episode reality series that will pit various celebrities against each other in green-themed competitions. From the article,

?Battleground will feature Chris ?Ludacris? Bridges and Tommy Lee criss-crossing the country competing in various challenges designed to highlight green issues. The series will culminate with the two artists converging in Los Angeles to co-headline a concert at the Greek Theater with proceeds benefiting Griffith Park.?

?Discovery Communication?s premiere of Planet Green, the first and only 24-hour eco-friendly lifestyle and entertainment television network, which premieres June 4 and a LIVE CONCERT. The event is part ?green? carpet, VIP party and part concert featuring Ludacris, Tommy Lee and other musical performances. The concert is the backdrop of the final taping for the new Planet Green series, BATTLEGROUND EARTH: LUDACRIS vs. TOMMY LEE, which premieres on August 3rd. Proceeds from this event will benefit the fund created to restore areas destroyed by recent wildfires in and around Griffith Park.?

Tickets are available to the public from Ticketmaster or at the box office of the Greek Theater ? but before you purchase, we also want to give you the opportunity to attend like a star. Before the concert starts at 8pm, you?ll be ushered down the green carpet at six (after getting free parking ? awesome!) and into the VIP party happening outside the theatre. You?ll party there for two hours and then receive great seats for the concert. Besides Tommy Lee and Ludacris, performers will also include Train, Switchfoot, members of Velvet Revolver, Bowling for Soup, Too Short, Blue Man Group, Robbie Krieger from the Doors, Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top and Planet Green celebrities.

DEE SNIDER, VELVET REVOLVER Members To Perform At 'Battleground Earth' Concert - May 15, 2008

M?TLEY CR?E drummer Tommy Lee, Dee Snider of TWISTED SISTER, and members of VELVET REVOLVER are among the artists who are expected to perform on May 28 at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles at a benefit concert for the reforestation of Griffith Park, which was devastated by recent wildfires. This event will be filmed for a televised broadcast.

As previously reported, Tommy Lee and hip hop superstar Chris "Ludacris" Bridges to star in "Battleground Earth", a reality competition that features the duo battling against the toxic forces destroying mother earth as they travel across the country on a 10-episode tour. The series premieres in August 2008.

Viewers witness the two stars pushed to the limit as they attempt to keep their high-wattage acts on an eco-friendly course. Enlisting the help of their posses, celebrity guests, and anyone else willing to lend a hand, Ludacris and Tommy Lee dive right into the "Battleground Earth" competition with unexpected and sometimes hilarious results.

In the "Fast Fuel" episode Ludacris and Tommy Lee's bio-diesel tour buses are running on empty in the middle of the Texas Panhandle. They must roll into a fast food restaurant and look for fast food grease to turn into eco- friendly fuel. Throughout the tour they battle to get the word out about the state of the environment. This rap 'n' roll battle culminates in the above-mentioned green carpet benefit concert at the Greek Theatre.

"Battleground Earth" is a primetime series produced for Planet Green by the Greif Company. Leslie Greif and Adam Reed are the executive producers for Greif, Steve Jones is co-executive producer and Jonathan McHugh is supervising producer. Howard Lee is vice president of production and executive producer for Planet Green and Lisa Caruso is executive producer.
