SLASH is set to form another supergroup for the launch concert at Las Vegas' Red Rock Resort.
The former Guns N' Roses star has recruited Alice In Chains star Jerry Cantrell and Led Zeppelin's Jason Bonham to his Blues Ball Band for the show on Saturday (05Jul08).
Liv Tyler's estranged husband Royston Langdon will also join the trio with other surprise guest artists planned.

SLASH DELIVERS POOLSIDE BLUES

Slash stepped up Saturday for the launch of Bottle Rock It, the new poolside concert series at Red Rock Resort wherein wine, rock and environmentalism all come together. Really, though, just the wine and rock is plenty. Anything else seems like overkill.

The Velvet Revolver, Guns ?n? Roses and Snakepit guitarist brought Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains, Jason Bonham and Royston Langdon of Spacehog along for the show. The quartet also stopped by to take in Katt Williams? act at The Pearl inside The Palms. We weren?t actually sure Jerry Cantrell ever smiled, so the news comes as much of a surprise to you as it does to us. It?s not like Alice in Chains ever did a video featuring a creepy monk with his eyes stitched together like upholstery or anything.

Slash did an hour with his Blues Ball Band before bringing Cantrell and Langdon on stage. They covered Pink Floyd?s ?Wish You Were Here? before doing Alice in Chains? ?Rooster.? Perry Ferrell of Jane?s Addiction came up to belt out Stevie Wonder?s ?Superstition? with a full glass of Bordeaux in his hand, then they did a version of ?Mountain Song? before bringing Cantrell back on the stage to rock Led Zeppelin?s ?Whole Lotta Love.?

DAYUM, that was great.  The singer did pretty good, a couple bad notes.  Jerry and Slash did great!

It doesn't matter who the guitar player is, the songs are covers.  They sound awesome.  Teddy is cool as hell.  Perry did good too.  You can still enjoy a band, even if ONE player is overrated in your eyes.  ha.
