Get Loaded with Duff McKagan and the boysDuff McKagan may be best known as the scraggly blond bass player for Guns N' Roses, but the Northwest native has a lengthy discography that includes much more than his GN'R days.
File this under the "Did You Know" category: At 16, McKagan played a stint with the legendary Seattle pop-punk band the Fastbacks. He also played a rocker vampire on the TV show "Sliders," sobered up and ran a marathon.
And when not playing/recording/touring with fellow ex-GN'R members Slash and Matt Sorum in Velvet Revolver, McKagan fronts his own band, Loaded. (Apparently life after Guns N' Roses means your band name still must somehow involve firearms.)
"No ego driven side-project of a megastar, Loaded shoots from the hip with a working-class swagger," states the band's Web site.
And Loaded will be swaggering into the Yakima Sports Center on Saturday night.
In addition to McKagan, the band features drummer Geoff Reading (Green Apple Quick Step), bassist Jeff Rouse (Vendetta Red, Alien Crime Syndicate) and guitarist Mike Squires (Alien Crime Syndicate). Opening is Guns & Rosetti.
The show starts at 9. Cover is $7.
