Hi people ! Im willing to buy a mock ST since I can't afford the SL.

I was watching it, the electronics are not the same as the original. I've read somewhere that the electronics and switches are very low quality.

I want someone who can test it (here in Argentina we have no stock, i have to import it and can't test it before buying).

As far as I know, it has Jumbo frets (kind of a ibanez rg fretboard), the balance and tone is nice...

Can someone test one for me and give me your troughts ?

thank you ! !

I have not played the guitar, so I can't help you there.

But the electronics are easy to replace if they are too cheap and nasty, and replacements don't cost much. The pickups themselves are a bit expensive, though, but if you shop around you can get some good deals on them, especially used.

my idea is to

a) put some alnico
b) drill a new hole
c) put the SL electronics style

Im scared about the paint finish, body finish, woods, fretboard, playability... it's what i found more important on a guitar.

Drilling holes is never easy on the nerves. Assuming the finish is poly, you can do it with no real problems. Scoring around the area will reduce the chance of any cracks in the finish (the cracks should not spread beyond the score line).

As for the electronics, that's a piece of cake. I'll need reminding of them, but you should be able to find schematics all over the internet. Wiring up guitars is far from black magic. If you know how to solder, you can do it.

Although, if what you really want is an SL, you will probably find that an ST just isn't the same.

thanx for the info !

I just want to know if the body is the same, and if the fretboard is thin and comfortable.

The other things... I can change them  hihi
