"All the way from California" -- 11/10/2006

« Reply #20 on: December 18, 2007, 02:16:38 PM »

I really enjoy the TM guys and cannot wait for their interview with Slash.

I am just curious why would they need a big holiday to release it?
because then people can give their kids/family/friends a copy of Chinese Democracy probably. however to me it seems that if that person would want Chinese Democracy he/she'd probably buy it anyway, irrelevant what period its released in.

I can understand the thought process behind releasing CD during the holiday season, but I too feel that the actual date is irrelevant.  Several friends, in addition to myself, will be purchasing multiple copies regardless of what time of year it is.

Also, I might be mistaken about this, but I don't think rock albums really have the best track record during the holidays.

Ideally, I'd love to see it out in spring, but then again, I don't know whats going on nor is it up to me.
However after seeing the band and their growth over the years. I can say that I unswervingly believe in the band and Chinese Democracy.

It'll be exciting to see whats next.

QFT, sir.   ok

I can see the thinking too but I don't think they absolutely need to.   When this album drops, it's going to be all over the media and people [hopefully] will buy this and not download but it's inevitable.   As we have seen record sales are slumping year after year so we can only hope people will support and buy it but I also think that no matter when it's released, it's going to have the same frenzy around it.  I am not saying lines out the door but this the "infamous" Chinese Demo, it's going to create a buzz no matter when it's on the shelves.   Xmas time isn't going to ensure more sales then if it was released in the Spring, IMO.

Look at the lies Slash is leading

But that?s what YOU think. I Think the lazy bastards ( who will download the album ) parents maybe will buy the album for them at christmas? See ?
Sure it will sell many copies..But think about it..Instead of dragging yourself down to the store and spend money on the album, why not download it instead ?..It only takes 5 min ( Or less..Or moore )
So like other people said..It will loose alot of buyers because of downloading..But Christmas is the time of giving..so..Therfore...I think it will come out next x-mas...Buisness-wise.

I will defenitly buy the album..Just to support them..But i think i?ll download it aswell (And i?m pretty sure you will to )..I spend all my time infront of the computer anyway..

Xmas could be the worst time, people hate dealing with crowds and downloading could look more appealing instead of waiting for a parking spot, sweating in the stores and what not, not me but some people think like that.

I totally see where you are coming from it's all good.  I guess we'll just have to see next year.   peace

thanks for supporting us.?

Angel Down rocks.? It is so great listening to something new with Axl on it.

I asked Slash on Monday if he had heard the Angel Down album yet and he told me no.

Cool Mark.  But, then again, if you read Slash's book, he's disappointed with the negative comments, whatever those are, that Baz has made about him and the VR guys.  So, I wouldn't think he would be hyped to read it.

Yeah, something to that effect.  Slash is disappointed that Baz has been "saying negative things" about them in the press, though I don't recall Baz ever actually doing that, and that he always liked Baz.

It's nice to hear someone say something positive about the band, but a little random. Did they have a bit about Guns on the FUSE show? I know that they had Frank and Bumble on a little bit ago. I tried searching, so if this has been posted, my apologies.

Quote
GUNS N' ROSES: CHINESE DEMOCRACY 2008
By Anthony Kuzminski and Mark Strigl

For the last 9 years, we have been anticipating the release of 'Chinese Democracy.' This will be Guns N' Roses' first album of new material since 1993.

Despite the years of waiting, and the departure of 4 of 5 original members, the public has not abandoned this band. Gn'R's 'Greatest Hits' record, which had virtually no promotion, hit Billboard's top 100 at #3 in March of 2004 and hasn't dropped off the charts since. Online discussions about the highly anticipated 'Chinese Democracy' have been going on for years. Over the past few years, live performances and a few rough mixes of new songs that have leaked to the net have whipped both devotees and cynical journalists into an excited frenzy. It is evident that the craving for a new Guns N' Roses record is so intense that fans will buy or do almost anything to feed their appetites for destruction.

Today we would like to go on record by saying that just because there is no longer an iconic guy wearing a top hat on lead guitar, doesn't mean we can disregard the current incarnation of Guns N' Roses. Axl Rose is a brilliant artist who defies the norm with his unrelenting willpower. New cuts such as "Better" and "Madagascar" confirm that Guns N' Roses still have thunderous artistic expression inside of them. In a day and age where rock has become way too safe, Axl Rose brings back uncertainty and danger to art form that has been lacking it for far too long.

A massive league of loyal fans continue to keep the legacy of Guns N' Roses alive, and whenever 'Chinese Democracy' finally drops, the fans' patience will be rewarded.

It pretty much sums up the reason why we're here.

You see the band live and see how great they are. Then it makes sense.

It's about looking to the future and knowing that it's gonna be bright.
