hey Jarmo, if something were to leak from Angle Down, would the same consequences be applied for those who would post a link?

just curious peace
Not to speak for Jarmo, but I would say YES!

Is it possible that Axl sees 'Angel Down' as an oppotunity to test new securities in the recording industry BEFORE he begins to let CD out of the bag? I mean, sure it's probably just good publicity and nothing more. But I find it strange that Axl's songs (or any, for that matter) on 'Angel Down' haven't leaked yet. I realize there's not as big of a demand for the former Skid Row frontman's album, but there's been SO much talk of 'Angel Down' and the fact that Axl sings on three songs....I really would have thought these songs would have leaked by now.

Just a thought.

Bring on 'Back in the Saddle!' (a very fitting tune for Axl to be singing on IMO)

I feel it's unlikely that this is intentional since Bach and GN'R are not of the same label.

But it crossed my mind last week that one of many possible things delaying Chinese Democracy is download protection technology.
There is so much money invested in CD that the label can't afford to take the "some people will buy many will download it free, that's life" aproach.
It's not about wanting people to hear the music.. it's about getting back their $15million. This disc needs to be unripable!

... i bet you well all wind up with leaks before it comes out though... Angel Down too.
It's ok.. i'll buy both anyway.

and I agree that Axl singing Back In The Saddle is very fitting.

axl said "the timing couldn't be better" and not "perfect timing"? Tongue (i think)

the touring has probably already paid the record company since it pays a lot more to sell out crowds then to sell records

(hope that what i just said makes sense)

There will never be an unrippable CD. Even if they perfected the technology someone can always pop the CD in their stereo and plug the headphone port into their computer so it plays through there. If you can listen to a CD, you can rip it. There's no way around that and it's not even theoretically possible to prevent it.

I guess it'll be in stores on the Saturday beforehand?  or in the days leading up, depending on who stacks the shelves.

Ditto. What people needs to realize is that this "security" is more of a marketing thing than to prevent the piracy. Of course it makes a little harder to rip, but it would still show up soon enough on the web anyways and then pop up everywhere.

The real prevention here is to have the unstoppable leak as close of the release date as possible.
