That's only 1/4 full for Montreal  and about 1/2 full for Toronto. Goes to show that they should not be doing hockey arenas.

Goes to show that they should not be doing hockey arenas.

I think that statement is right on the money.

Arena rock shows have gone the way of the dinosaur in North America.

Beyond a few more classic rock bands, these things just do well for the most part.

I can't belive with even AIC that more didn't show.? AIC is a huge band.?

AIC was a huge band.  They don't have Layne Staley to tour with them and that is a huge loss considering he had one of the most unique voices in rock.  Maybe if AIC had a record to tour behind, things would be different.

They're the opening act for God's sake. In Montreal they played 11 songs. Hardly a co-headlining situation.

I'd say a majority of those 3500 and 7000 fans went to see VR. If they didn't, Alice In Chains should be headlining.

VR's album is out of the Top 50 and the shows aren't selling.

Why are you so sure it will pick up? If it hasn't by now, it's not going to...

Why is that?

AFD sold only 500,000 copies in the first year and even went number one only after that. I'm not saying Libertad is AFD in any shape or form, but time is irrelevant. SBQM was a crappy choice for a first single. We'll see what happens after TLF releases.

Libertad does not have a single on it that can catch fire like SCOM or PC. Theres no way it's going to see a lot more then it already has, there was a novelty factor with the first record which has now worn off. The vast majority of the public don't care anymore, if they did the album and tour would be doing better then it is.

Completely different situation.  AFD was from a band trying to break it big and needed to just get these amazing songs out there.   The album has classics that were hella catchy and radio friendly.

The VR album, while it has some good songs, none of it has anything thats going to take over the airwaves and become #1 or any shit like that.    Last  Fight may do better than SBQM, but in tihs day and age with the internet, everyone who is interested in this album has probably already heard it.

It's a totally different scenario.  When AFD was released, nobody knew who Guns N' Roses were.  For a band to sell, people have to actually know they exist, and not many people knew of GnR until they started getting hits on the radio

The overwhelming majority of people who would be interested in buying a VR album know who Velvet Revolver is.  People know they have a new album out, not that many people care, and of course the poor single choice played a role in that.  But it's not like people don't know who VR is.  It's not like they're some underground band with no exposure.  They went double platinum three years ago and their single is getting a lot of airplay, it's just not inspiring people to buy the album
