Slash 'emotional' over Alice

Slash was proud to present Alice with the award

Slash has admitted he found it quite "emotional" presenting his mate Alice Cooper with Mojo's Hero award.

The former Guns N' Roses guitarist said: "I've known him for so long and he's always been a really good friend to me and a huge influence on me, so there was a moment where I was just really proud to be on stage presenting it."

Slash, 41, added that the pair go a long way back: "I've played a lot of stuff with Alice, I've done some recordings with him and a bunch of shows. Guns N' Roses opened for Alice, so I think he knew me when I was like 19."

The curly-haired rocker, who is now a member of Velvet Revolver, admitted he would play for Alice again "in a heartbeat".

But he ruled out a reunion with Guns N' Roses saying he loves his new band and that reforming had "never occurred" to him.
