People who go would like to have it be something special, there is basically NO reason to go to a show on this particular tour if you already went once...you will get the same show, more or less. That could not be said on the UYI tour..
They were the biggest band in the world at the time and had nothing to prove to anybody. For now, the band is going with what works for people who have most likely never seen them before.
And yeah, if you already saw them last year, chances are you live in America or Europe.
Why shouldn't Mexico, Japan and Australia get the same awesome show that I was fortunate enough to see 3x in Southern Cali last year? So that the 180 people online with nothing better to do get to read something interesting in the "Updates Thread"?
And you're right, there's no reason to go to a show on this tour if you already went last year. It's someone else's turn now. I live in CA. I'm not going to Mexico or Australia to see them this year. Why would I? It's their turn. Next time I get a chance to see them it'll either be a warm-up show in a small club this year (a special experience in itself even with the same set) or it'll be after (if) the album comes out when they will obviously be changing some things. I'd be happy either way.
I'll be the first to admit I was a little disappointed when I went to two of the Gibson Amp shows last year and got pretty much the same set twice in a row. But uh, that's my fault for going twice (I still say it was worth it). The band doesn't care that I'm there twice when there's 8,000 new people there to leave a good first impression with.
