So let me get this right ... the single cd will be censored, but the more expensive deluxe set will be uncensored ?

Maybe the Pills song has been renamed For A Brother, as I believe the Pills song is about Weilands brother.

Both the Pills song and For a Brother were on the original tracklists, so I doubt it. I think its more likely Messages became "For A Brother."

Interesting to see Gravedancer as the last track, can't wait to hear Slash's aggressive blues solo he talked about, that is going to finish the album!

Its not VRs choice, it is Sony's, and they are known for doing this kind of crap to get more money. They will push the legal boundries just to get that extra cash, nevermind how many customers they screw over in the process.

2. They didn't label the censored version as "censored" and the uncensored version as "explicit", so the customer has no idea which they're getting.

3. They issued the censored version as a single CD only. And they issued the explicit version as a deluxe, more expensive, CD/DVD package.

That really sucks!

Does anyone think there will be any kind of reimbursement plan if you don't get the cd you prefer regarding the censorsed/explicit album versions?

I'd like to see demons, pills, etc... on the album. If I'm not wrong they've recorded 18 songs on the studio and if they finally put only 12 on the album there'd be a lot of tracks out. 12 is not a bad number but 13 is better  Grin .
At least i hope to hear some of the non-album tracks as b-sides or something like this!!!  drool

Theres no garentee thats what they'll do but Avril Lavinge is on the same label (RCA devision of Sony/BMG) and its exactly the same format for the release, so its looking extremely likely.

i doubt VR would issue a censored album avrils a pop artist, the censored one is for the kids maybe?
They released a censored version of Contraband.  I only know one person who bought it but it does exist. And as someone said its not the bands choice, its the label that decides these things.

I doubt it'll be a problem for big fans who are likely to buy the CD+DVD version anyway, the problem is that a lot of casual fans or new fans won't want to pay extra for the DVD, but they won't want a censored version either and theres a good chance a lot of them will not bother buying it at all and just download it for free instead.

That will depend on the record shop I think, whether they would give you credit to trade it or not.

Really shitty of Sony to pull crap like this. Firstly they do this censored/un-censored thing, and then they reject the bands wishes and go with ...Quick Machines as the first single.

I know it's all speculation because I don't know where this site got their info from, but the Australian tracklisting for Libertad is different - it does feature Pills, Demons & Etc.

http://chaos.com/product/libertad_1492830_187653.html

Track Listing:

Disk 1
1.    Let It Roll
2.    She Mine
3.    Get Out The Door
4.    She Builds Quick Machine
5.    The Last Fight
6.    Pills, Demons & Etc.
7.    American Man
8.    Mary Mary
9.    Just Sixteen
10.    Can't Get It Out Of My Head
11.    For A Brother
12.    Spay
13.    Gravedancer

Disk 2
1.    Dvd (Pal): 30 Minute Dvd Documentary From Velvet Revolvers 2007 South American Tour

Edit: I've checked a few Australian websites and they all seem to have this tracklisting, so we're getting 13 album tracks while the rest of the world gets 12?
