Axl Rose v. Jeff Burgar

I couldn't find another thread about this. So I posted it here.
Around 2000-2001 Axl filed a law suit against Jeff Burgar over the URL gunsnroses.com. In February 2001 some sites posted the following letter from the "webmasters" of gunsnroses.com:
------------------------------------------------------
SNEAK PEEK AT OFFICIAL GN'R SITE
My name is John Perterson and I will be one of the webmasters handling the updates at gunsnroses.com, the official site for Guns N' Roses. The site will be opening soon and we would like to give you and your readers a sneak peek at the contents of the site.
You can find the contents of the official site at
http://www.gunsnroses.com/news
Right now, the front page at
http://www.gunsnroses.com
has a "coming soon" graphic with no links to the content we have created thus far.
You will need Flash 5.0 for the site to work properly. The menu containing the contents of the site can be found on the left hand side of the page. You will need to click on the scroll to show the links to the contents of the site.
Please let me know what you think of the contents of the official site thus far. Let me know what improvements in content we can make. Please give the URL address I provided to your readers so they can give feedback on what they think of the site.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, John
Webmaster

Jeff Burgar was supposedly a really big cybersquatter and he;d been to court with people like Springsteen, Pierce Brosnan, and lots of other people.
I've always wanted to read the filing, and I found it here, but I can't access it.

Axl Rose v. Jeff Burgar. Guns 'n' Roses member accuses man of being "repeat-offender cybersquatter" who registered gunsnroses.com and wants to do deal with band
Does anyone have it? I barely hear anything about this case these days, I'd like to read more about it.

Yeah, I'd forgotten about it as well. It's a really interesting case, and its a pity, that's the only place that seems to have the filing, but it's $20.

Are you talking about a court filing? That's public record, anyone can get it.

True, but not easily and not for FREE online.
I think Robman would have to actually VISIT the county courthouse in which the case was filed to get access to the paperwork as a matter of public record. That's not exactly an easy process.
The alternative is to use one of the law databasees that ARE on line...but they charge a fee...or find someone who works in law offices that wouldn't mind using the company's access to pull it up.
From what I remember, the case was settled long before it got to trial, but I could be wrong....

Sometimes I wonder why Guns N' Roses-fans haven't united into a brand new nation, with Welcome To The Jungle as the national anthem and the AFD-cross as the flag.
We've everything from record-company-know-it-alls to people with connections to the state and federal courthouses. And, we have people that are probably the best in the world at the magical art of Complaining
.... that aside, it'd be an interesting read. It'd be nice if you could find it.

A lot of counties will post the hearing dates and the outcome, but won't have all the good stuff in between. With that said, it's not tough to get IF you can go in person. An clerk will be glad to help. Court houses, though, generally charge 25 cents a page for copies and that can add up if you want everything.

I can't even find it under lexis nexis (a US law database) that I get access to at UMD.
The only case that I found involving Axl/Guns was Weber V. Geffen Records Inc, Guns N' Roses Music from 1999 over royalties stemming from Hollywood Rose, claiming Weber co-wrote Back Off Bitch and Shadow Of Your Love. (Weber was member of Hollywood Rose.) Geffen/Guns N' Roses made a motion to dismiss, which was granted, ending Weber's claims to the music.
If anyone wants anything else, let me know and I'll pull it up.
Also, I didn't know this, but did anyone know that Comcast/Spectrum Arena/Electric Factory/Axl Rose were sued over an injury at the Philly Riot, and that the person injured was awarded $140,000? Amazing.

Yeah, I'm kinda surprised it didn't get more coverage, considering the negative attention Axl gets in the press. It is being appealed by the involved parties though.
