I was a huge Brain fan. He was my favorite "nu" guy, going back to the very first Vegas show, which I was lucky to attend. So I was really bummed when he was kind of just not in the band anymore. That said, I don't know Frank too well ... I haven't even really heard any representative boots. (Any good ones out there that show off his skilz?) But Brain was absolutely killer. It would be hard for Frank to do better than him.

I like Brain he was with GnR for several years ans I hate to see him go beings the record might be close to coming out..obviously he put a lot of work in the album? and from my experience of seeing him live I thought he was very good.. I would like to see some stability in the line up and not just a 1 or 2 year contract and 1/4 of the band goes...kinda like free agency in the NFL.. you really like a guy on the team, he kicks ass and then his contracts up and he splits...no loyalty either way

Do we have official confirmation that Brain is gone?

I figured he might leave some day due to Buckets departure...

How many times has this been discussed?
 no
Here's what it always comes down to. If you want GnR to sound at its best, live and on album, you have to go with Brain and Bucket. If you want nice friendly chaps who will answer your e-mails and who are competant, and in Rons case, very skilled, you go with Frank and Ron. People like to say that the band has better chemistry now than it did in 2002, but what they really mean is that Axl sounds and looks way better than he did in 2002. The best sounding version of New GnR would be the 2002 band with the 2006 Axl. At this point I don't really care who is up there playing with Axl as long as when the album comes out it has Bucket and Brain's parts on it.

You couldn`have said it better!

I agree...kind of.

The drummer doesn't matter to me because Frank and Brain both do an amazing job. Some people in this thread are saying Brain has left... he IS still in the band. As long as one of those guys is up there on a given night, I'll be happy.

As far as the rest of the band, I like Ron a lot, so not seeing him up there would suck. Robin and Richard are also essential pieces of the band, as are Tommy, Dizzy, and even Chris.

i say that beings brain hasn't been in the picture for a while he might be a little rusty (maybe idk) so i say Frank should take the wheel on this one.

Brain is obviously the better drummer, but Frank shows more passion onstage.

Frank is a better Cheerleader than Brain. You know, when he does that shit to get the crowd to chant Guns N' Roses. I've always thought that was gay and cheesy... something that fucking KISS would do!!!

I think Frank is now the drummer.. there was just no official announcement not to upset fans so they kinda eased it in.

I think Frank hits harder than brain though brain may be the better technical drummer.  I haven't compared the two side by side.

Brain is the drummer GNR should have going to the future, unless GNR just plans on sounding like every other band. Brain is different, diverse and can tackle anything Axl might decide to do. If GNR needs Frank to get the crowd pumped up at shows, there are major problems to address.
