It seems as though VR have recorded two cover songs during their recording for Libertad. Whether or not they'll be on the album is anyones guess. However Matt says that "they're both bitchin".

Talking Heads - Psycho Killer
Electric Light Orchestra - Can't Get It Out Of My Head

Matt revealed the information on Camp Freddy Radio yesterday.

Cool! All the covers are welcome, as soon as they are not from Pink Floyd  rant

I thought their cover of Money was awesome (Slash and Matt go off at the end of the song!) and Wish You Were Here sounded great when they played it live too. ok

I hate that Talking Heads song, but I'd be curious to hear VR's version.

How can you hate Talking Heads?  That song is gonna rule.  Put it on the cd.

Let's see, I hate the singing, I hate the music. Doesn't do anything for me. Simple as that. ok

I'd rather hear another VR original than a cover of a song I don't like.

I can see them playing the covers live, but I don't want them on the album.give  us your new, original music.
Psycho  killer  is a great tune. The other is ok, but I  am not that hot about it.

Did he say VR recorded this or Camp Freddy? There's a difference.

And I wouldn't mind hearing VR's ELO cover on a soundtrack.

I can only agree with that.

Here is ELO (2001 version) playing the song: http://youtube.com/watch?v=datxGhZnuow

I guess Jeff Lynne (from ELO) is the guy on Tom Petty's band on that 1989 MTV VMA's thing. I think he is the one wearing black (close to Izzy onstage).

I'm ok with them playing covers live or as b-sides or something...

I'd rather hear some more original VR than a lame cover...
