Here in hell tomorrow in.....

Ok so I just purchased a new guitar for my birthday this weekend and I picked up a book that shows you how to play chords. I'm starting to get the hang of switching chords and such but I always end up on the wrong fret. Can someone give me some tips on moving your fingers?

Practice.

Thats all it takes, you have to dedicate yourself to the instrument.

This may sound weird but, your fingers are dumb. It's like exercising a muscle to do something. Kind of why you can't just throw a football 40 yards. Just need practice. Practice your open chords(C,G,D,E,A) to build up your finger strength. If you just rely on barre chords, might as well keep your hand in that position.
