Some guy claimed to have Chinese Democracy but people didnt buy his lies. He ended with the line: "Im gonna go listen to something you wont see for a long time". 

Doug Goldstein claimed Chinese Democracy was 99% musically done and 80% vocally done in 2000 or something.

I agree.  Everyday though, I see a story about GNR to reform.  And I don't want that at all.

Around the European tour, someone claimed to have inside information from Brain that Slash would join the band in the fall.

I can't remember whether this one was a rumor or just a dumb guess... Someone went to a Buckethead show in 2004/5, and claimed to have glimpsed someone peeping in from the backstage, apparently Axl. The poster mentioned the apparition was laughing.

Back in 2002 there was a rumor going around that GnR were on the campus of a private high school filming a video for Madagascar. I'm pretty sure a board member claimed their "daughter" or "niece" went there.
