GnFnR

« on: December 12, 2006, 03:56:06 AM »

I've been a Guns n Roses Fan since I was 8 years old I remember Watching Paradise City at my grandma's house cause we didn't have cable.  I remember watching Welcome To The Jungle, I remember T2 You Could Be Mine, All the Illusion era I remember November Rain blew me away.  Then after 94 it all dissapeared.

At the time I didn't have the internet and didn't get it till about 01 I was occasionally listening to some Guns n Roses and then AUGUST 2002 im sitting home watching the VMA's and then Jimmy Falon suprises the shit out of me with Guns N Roses.  I was jumping up and down like a school girl Axl looked terrible but just him being out there was great.

I remember the next couple weeks i'd try and find Chinese Democracy tracks all I could get was Madagascar.  They kick off the 2002 Tour is goes up and flames and that's the last we heard from him.  Fast Forward to 2006 im at my work we where getting Rolling Stone at the time I see Axl at the Korn Party the article they wrote about it AXL looks great couple weeks later we have a pic of him at the Soprano's party both my best friend and I are saying wow Axl is really out and about.

So its about the first week of March I find this thing called YouTube.com so I type in Guns N Roses and I find the track demo BETTER I play it and im just blown away with it just hearing Axl again sounding good I called my friend up and he rushed over so we could listen too it.  At this time my friend loved the original group and Axl but was thinking he didn't have it left and that his new band was crappy.  I start following the New York Shows I follow the European Tour my friend keeps making fun of me saying your will never get the new album.  Sept rolls around and I get the best Christmas present I've received Three Tickets to Guns N Roses @ Everett Events Center.  My brother my friend and I get to go.  My brother like them but was tired of waiting for a album and was sketchy with the new band.

Dec 10 2006

We get inside we have floor seats we are about 10 feet away from the stage.  We go thru the opening acts and then after a half hour wait

Jungle starts to play and the crowd cause ape shit.  ( my favorite part of the show besides Nov Rain and Rocket Queen)  was watching Axl walk out during Welcome To The Jungle and stand at the center of the stage with his sunglasses on chewing his gum and SCREAMING DO YOU KNOW WHERE THE FUCK YOU ARE.

They go threw there some songs and after Mr Brownstone my friend goes " BOY I'LL NEVER MAKE FUN OF THIS BAND AGAIN THESE GUYS ARE HITTING EVERY NOTE AND STRING PERFECTLY" so we finish the show and everyone is just in shock AXL was 10 feet away from us and it was amazing couldn't believe it.

I told my friend I GO I TOLD YOU SO Robin Richard Ron Frank Dizzy Chris Tommy there no joke and he was yeah your we right about this one GNR is back and AXL IS SOUNDING BETTER then ever.

All I can say is if my brother and Friend thought they where washed up and done well just wait till they Release that Single and a Album PEOPLE WILL BE WANTING TO HEAR GUNS N ROSES once again.

I went with 3 skeptics (not me of course! Smiley), and each of them are huge GN'R fans now, with 2 of the 3 willing to travel and see more shows as soon as possible. This was from the Calgary show.

Great band, great music, and looking forward to a great album whenever they're ready!? ok

Cheers!

Who wouldn't enjoy songs like WTTJ and Brownstone, LALD, Patience, November Rain etc.?  These songs are classics.

Seems as though the only ones who don't enjoy a show are those who go in with a serious agenda.

That's sweet to read about how the band NAILED EVERY NOTE of the old songs.  That's AWESOME.  Those guys are total professionals and are capable of playing ALL THE NOTES in old GnR songs.  AWWWWWWWWESOME! beer beer

Yea, I dont' know why he called it a "catastrophe" in an interview this year.  2K2's VMA's are one of my favorite GnR performances.  Axl was on fire that night.

This deserved its own thread? I think show reviews are under the thread for the corresponding show.

ya, everything was on fire except axl's voice. it was kinda embarassing. It would be cool if they peformed again at the vma's or grammy's. they would be more prepared.

As the dust settled, Axl stared unblinkingly at me and, with no hint of irony, summed up GN?R?s philosophy: ?We don?t start anything. But if you mess with us, then we?ll fuck you up!

He's talking about the 2002 VMA's, not 88 or 92.

I'm still not very pleased with the new GNR but I'm looking forward to go to their show if they come to Argentina.
