I know that he won the Nobel price for economics, other than that I didn't know him.

But still R.I.P....

That's a shame, I used one of his arguments in a speech I did for my communications class just a couple of weeks ago.

R.I.P.

he is one of the reasons that keep our economist and governement so stressed on growth and the illusion that "free-market" will fix everything.

not his fault. he is from an ancient era.

i share ideas with socialist,  communists, liberals, neo socialists and many more.

i haven't read full books of friedman i admit - you dont need to read full text to know about one mand - , i have read articles, and paper by and about him.

and it is know that the class of economists he belongs to were the one who "built" our free-market world the way it is - and it's normal, at the time, their visions were amazing -
we are now witnessing how wrong we were.

disagree ? things are rolling well for planet earth ?

i must say that friedman had some interesting ideas that would shock many of the pro-capitalism guys here:
negative taxes
universal minimum wage

but again, it's all based on an old thing: growth and free-market will save us all.

He was pro-weed, too.  rofl I hope his legacy will rival Keynes's in the future; he was absolutely brilliant.
