Bach even alluded to that last nite when he said for the last song at least be as loud as the last crowd the other night.

Uhhh...hello? That's my point. MSG wasn't loud for Bach because he stunk the place up. People in the GA were into him, but everyone else was sitting down and watching the train wreck that was his performance.

the show was average.  exactly what i expected... no complaints...

Couldn't agree more.  Def not a bad show, but def not a GREAT show either.  I'm glad I didn't spend a ton of money on tickets.

The sound in the 300s was kinda weak, was tough to hear axl for a few songs, but the crowd was singing a long to most of them so you oculdn't hear him anyways.

LOTS of people sitting down during the solos and the new songs.  weird crowd around us too, there were some dudes literally in their 40s-50s behind us, one guy had a cane! haha.  but they were rocking out.

good show though, it was a fun night.  Rose Pizzeria is the BEST place to go to pre concert  ok

You know there were alot of older people at the shows I was at too. I saw several people in their 50s at the shows I was at.

Plus then you've got that one guy from West Virginia's infamous story about the grandma that kept grabbing him.

He didnt stink up the place. The only full section was teh floor when he went on. When he went on in worcester the place was half full. The reason it wasnt loud for bach is not because he sucked it was because no one was there? yet. His performance was far from a train wrek. He sang great. I really dont know what set you were watching. The fact is no one was standing for papa roach either in the seated section.

i dont know...i was DJing tonight, i didnt get there until about 10:30 or so....the place was pretty full, people knew Axl might start early in NYC....thats why i was so worried about getting there late.....but when we walked in, PR was long gone....so it worked out perfect actually.

Axl seemed in a good mood again tonight. i gotta say again though...tons of love from the crowd!!! NJ was a blah show....sunday night, lots of tired people, lots of people mad about work on Monday....Tonight....this crowd was PUMPED. VERY LOUD singing, u couldnt hear Axl on songs like SCOM, Patience, November Rain b/c the crowd was so loud.

robin had a cool solo....Fortus was better sunday night for his solo, but his was great tonight nonetheless. if i walked away with anything...it was the crowd being so loud, and soooo pumped to see their man!

after the show, the streets of nyc were filled with Axl and GNR talk.

Finck was my favorite guitarist going into the night but i thought his solo sucked so hard. I gained so much respect for Ron and my new fav richard.

There were a lot of people (myself included) standing up for Papa Roach. I'm a Skid Row fan, but even I'll agree that Papa Roach was better last night.

normally, i like fortus' solo the best. but i thought finck was trippy, crazy, wild, nasty, messy, creative, dynamic...all-in-all, he was good last night..ron is cool and all...i dont know, i dont dig his look or playing. fortus is amazing on guitar.

My only problem with Rons guitar playing is that he some times shreds when its not needed. I still dont like his shredding KOHD solo, it doesnt fit the song. BHs made the song sadder how it should  be. Ron just shreds it.  A few other songs he shreds too when he shouldnt be but Ron is great on most songs

You must have been at a different show than I last night. The people in seats on the side of the stage were up the entire time for Papa Roach. The lead singer was constantly going over to those sections and recognizing them.

Listen, you're entitled to your opinion about music, but I'm just telling you what I saw from my seats (section 86 row A) I saw a bored crowd for Bach (yes, not a lot of people to see him anyway) and an enthused crowd for P Roach

the show was average.? exactly what i expected... no complaints...

EXACTLY! I went last night, and while I thought it was a great show, It was very average. Here's a quick review:

BACH: One word...Awful. He sucked hard, and you almost felt bad, because he mentioned how happy he was to finally be playing MSG. But his new music sucks, and he kept on yelling to someone off stage about the sound. Regardless of what people who had GA tickets say, no one was into him. If those people could turn around they'd see people in their seats bored. People cheered for Youth Gone Wild and some Skid Row classics but that was it.

PAPA ROACH: By the end of Papa Roach's set, I think they made a lot of new fans. They were excellent and really got the crowd pumped. Shaddix can sing his ass off and he just has great energy. It was a great idea to have them on the tour, one of the better and successful opening bands I've seen. Really got the job done.

GUNS: I guess the surprise of the night was how tight the band sounded and the fact that there were ZERO sound problems. Otherwise, typical set, no down on the farm, or perfect crime like some thought there would be. I think a few people walked away dissapointed just because we were all waiting to here something special for MSG and it didn't come. But the band was terrific, like I said, really tight, and wowed the crowd. Sold Out? Not at all, there were lots of empty seats up in the 300 and 400 sections. But GNR owned every person who was there

Bach was awesome even though his sound was off. And I was surprised more people were not into him on the floor. The people in the seats were. AT worcester Bach got more cheers than papa roach did. Bach even alluded to that last nite when he said for the last song at least be as loud as the last crowd the other night. I cant belive you thought he sucked. HIs voice was great. I cant belive you think that the papa roach singer sang better than Bach. Papa roach sucks.?

As for the show not being sold out. The show was sold out. There were very few empty seats and those were sold, they were either from people who didnt make the show or scaplers they couldnt sell the tix.? For the seats that were avaible 99% of them were fllled.

Just to add on to what you said Dave, I agree the show was sold out......a lot of people left their seats and went down to where I was setting by the Mixing board and basically turned that into a second GA.  The three seats behind me had people seated in them and I later saw them down on the railing.  The funny thing to me was that the place was still pretty empty up until the last 2 or 3 songs from Papa Roach......people are preparing themselves for Axl being late.  rofl  This girl setting beside me said after Papa Roach was done, "How much longer do we have before they start" and of course I replied with "well, I don't know if soon is the word" and laughed......and of course she was like "are you fucking retarded"  Okay she didn't say that last part, but I did break out the soon quote.  no

Sad though but Bach wasn't terrible but the sound was just rough. ?I wasn't surprised Scott Ian came to play a song. ?
Papa Roach I thought played an excellent set as the lead singer came from the stage and interacted with the fans in front of the barriacdes, both sides.
P Roach's drummer at the end stood up in the middle of the stage and gave that heart pound to the crowd which I thought was nice. ?
The GA section was filling up around 10:45pm and I was standing in the back watching the whole show.

What can I say what hasn't already been said...the show kicked, rocked and made Friday night memorable...but man I think the GA section got hammered with huge loads of ?confetti that it felt like New Year's Eve. ? It was just an amazing night.

OMG!  This show rocked!  Rolled in the place around 9:30.  Skipped out on Bach to drink a bit... Going to the bathroom before GNR got on was like being in high school all over again.  If you walked in there, you would lose like 5 years of your life because of all the second-hand smoke.  People did not care at MSG.  It was one giant party!  When Papa Roach was on, we had fun booing the shit out of him and laughing hard at his gay ass.  He totally didn't belong on this show.  He ain't the same genre even.  Anyways... I wish I would have brought my camera inside.  They did not care at all.  You could have brought some heavy duty recording devices and filmed that shit for bootleg DVDs.  MSG did not care.  You live and you learn.

I was buying another beer at a stand after hotboxing a cigarette in a stall like in high school and then the music started thumping the floor.  I'm forcing money in the woman's hand and took the beer out of her hand before she could serve it to me and storm the arena back to my floor seat.  They were doing Jungle and I missed like a minute of the opening.  I clearly thought I'd be waiting a lot longer before they decided to come on.  THey didn't pull that shit Friday night.  I think it might have been around 11:15 or so.  I was in Section 5, Row N.  Not bad.  I could still see plenty of Axl's cornrows.

My fav was You Could Be Mine.  THey ripped that shit apart.  The crowd was goin' nuts.  I was goin' nuts.  Knockin' on Heaven's Door was a great one too.  The crowd got heavy into it.  Axl was doing that shit right.  Great response from the crowd.  Some kids came over and got in the middle of our floor seats to get high.  We hid them from sight and sang along with Axl.  Good times.  Live and Let Die was good too.  IRS was also a good new one.  I had been listening to that one for a week or two beforehand so I was sort of familiar with it and I like that one the best out of all the new album... even though it's not released yet.

Dizzy had some dreadlocks.  I was laughing at that shit, but whatever.  It's Dizzy.  Man was playing the keys with heart.  Solid.  Go DIzzy!

Robin Finck.  You ROCK man!  Lunacy!  And Ron Fortus man!?!  YOU FUCKING RIP SHIT APART!  God fucking DAMN!  RIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Dude was vain and shit showin' off his ripped abs too.  I ain't hatin' though.

Bumblefoot could hold his own, but I think Fortus and Finck made him look weak in comparison for the solos at this show.

Wish I was in Section 6 because I wanted that mic Axl threw out in the crowd.  I bet some blows were thrown for that shit.  Don't be surprised if some deutsch puts out multiple mics on Ebay claiming it's the authentic mic.  Haha.

Overall, fantastic blowout of a show!  Fucking awesome!  Loved it.  I want more.  I remember jumping up and down on the couch when I got home from middle school for MTV Rocks and Guns videos.  Man, I've been waiting too long for this shit to happen.  I'm really happy right now.  Everyone at the show seemed really happy to be there.  Hope it happens again real soon.  This was also the first time I got to party in NYC.  Great experience!
