I'm including Jacksonville in this.

So far, it looks like Jacksonville, North Carolina, and West Virginia are the worst selling shows of the tour so far. (I'm hearing rumors of about a thousand tickets sold for tonight's show. gunsnroses.com has seats available in every section of the arena.) I really hope the band's morale doesn't drop going out there and playing to these venues. The Jersey show is on the 5th, and as far as I know that's a near sell-out, so I'm sure it will be a boost...but these next few shows have me a little concerned...

I wouldn't worry to much..they're all pro's, so they won't let a few shows with low ticketsale destroy their morale.

Yeah, they're pros, but every band has an ego. From the bar bands who end up playing to their girlfriends and the bar staff to bands that sell out stadiums - it's going to be an ego bruise for them to come out on stage and see empty arenas. It would affect anyone.

I mean, NJ, Worcester, and Portland aren't really selling AMAZINGLY either - its looking rough until MSG, to be honest.

Where did the rumor come from about the 1000 seats? Just curious.

While you've posted a valid concern, even if it's true I don't see these guys getting down over it. I think they'll solider on in the face of adversity (if the even view a small crowd as that).

At mygnr (I know, I know) - they said that there's still 11th row seats available, and I'm sure I saw the number 1,000 being tossed around over there at some point. Just go to gunsnroses.com and look at all the seats available for tonight though - it definitely has me a tad bit nervous.

I'm not worried.

Like RR Mafia said in one of his posts, they're playing it like underground.

Not sold-out venues doesn't seem to slow down the band at the shows so far. They seem happy to be there and they play their asses of from what we can read ok

I got the feeling these guys are going to take every fan one at the time if they have to.

In about a week they'll be playing at the sold-out Madison Square Garden. If that doesn't put wind in their sails, nothing will.

I do want to specify that I don't blame the band for the ticket sales at all. Like you said, once the public sees them, they have to admit that this is an amazing band. I blame the lack of promotion, and the scheduling of shows in such small markets the problems to begin with.

2002 is 4 years ago...alot have happened since then. The album is ALOT closer to it's release, and the members of the band seem alot more "together" then they did back then. It also seems that Axl is alot more into it. He seems more into it. No slash rants, more interviews etc. The european tour was a great sucess.(how's that spelled?) It just seems like there is alot more going for them this time around.

PS!I'm sorry if this doesn't make any sense..a few beers++...

They kind of scheduled a lot of out of the way shows.  Maybe they should have stuck to major metropolitan areas.  New York, LA, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Detroit, Miami, and so on.  It's not easy to sell out concerts with high priced tickets in places like Huntington, West Virginia without a new album or single to tour behind.  But hindsight is 20/20, and these shows were scheduled so now they need to show up and play them.  I think you guys are really freaking out about nothing, everyone's acting like the world's collapsing when GnR's been at or near the top of the ticket sales charts since this tour was announced.  Tickets to Guns shows are better than almost any other act in the US right now so the situation that dire

All it'll take is CD coming out and the band being successful to bring negativity from the other side, and I guarantee you they'll start trading jabs in the media, and then the rants will return.

Here Today... GONE TO BARCELONA JODER!!

« Reply #13 on: November 02, 2006, 07:56:27 PM »

I'd like to have this feeling but I thing that the next shows are going to be the same as the other ones. not to be negative....

It's a shame that I'm always negative in GNR world but now I just can be positive with Chinese democracy but Axl Rose don't let me be positive because he never release the album, he just play concerts... If he had play in Barcelona, maybe I would be more positive but if he doesn't...
