I'm sure everyone knows now, but Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle parished in a plane crash earlier today in New York City when he crashed his 4 passanger plane into a apartment complex (it actually hit the New York Mets 3ed base coach's apartment...).
Even though he was currently on the Yankees, he spent the majority of the last 3 seasons on the Philadelphia Phillies (and 5 other teams before that). Being a huge Phillies fan, I got to see Cory pitch over the last 3 seasons and I saw many interviews with him, and let me tell you, the world is not a better place without him.
Cory was always as honest as can be (something us Philadelphia fans love) and a stand up guy. He obviously loved baseball and life itself, and he's going to be terribly missed, by fans all around baseball. I just wanted to wish his wife and his six year old son well, and I hope that everything is ok.
RIP Cory, you will be missed.
