FABRICATI DIEM PUNC

« on: October 03, 2006, 11:49:04 AM »

The above subject line is the title piece of a snippet from today's Daily Star.? The text is as follows:

"Wildman rocker Slash used to have an Appetite For Destruction - now he could be following in the footsteps of Gaby Roslin.? The tattooed Guns N' Roses guitarist - famous for his trademark bottle of Jack Daniels and top hat - has been asked to star in the saccharine singing show, Just The Two Of Us.

The BBC reality show has previously starred telly presenter Gaby, 42, former Atomic Kitten Natasha Hamilton, 24, and GMTV's Penny Smith, 47.? It pairs celebs with renowned musicians.? Each pair performs duets in a bid to stay in the show, while the public votes off the worst acts.? It is understood that Slash, 41, has been promised "a substantial fee for his participation in this show".? It's not yet known if the rock legend will agree."

For those not familiar with this paper, it's a British tabloid rag akin to The Sun and Daily Mirror; just one step up from the Daily Sport - i.e. rumour and gossip are what fuels many of the stories on its pages.? So, take it for what you will...? Wink

I doubt they will have him on as a singing contestant (because he can't really sing  hihi) but they will probably have him on as a special guest musician. Although it would be cool to see him on TV I think it's far too cheesy for someone like Slash to appear on.

I agree.  He hated singing.. it took a miracle to get him to do a demo of ISE, if I recall correctly.

Not true. Duff sang ISE live when Axl wasn't able to perform and they had to leave the tour (but played one song and explained the whole thing).

The Daily Star also said a few months ago during the World Cup that Axl was renting Michael Owens plane to fly all across Europe during the tour.

Donald Trump's done commercials, do you think he needs the money? Look at all of the top name athletes who do commercials. I doubt Slash needs the money but who knows!

yep, who knows. I haven't  seen his financial statements. I agree some extra cash can't hurt, even if you have plenty.
