just wanted to ask why this transfer?

Transfer - MD > PC mic > wav (using Soundforge)

you will loose quality 2 times in that (digital -> analog (MD analog out) + analog -> digital (soundcard PC) transfer), better way would be putting the MDs to computer by USB 2.0 or smth, then you would have a "MD Clone" on your harddisc.

Ah, that would explain it, it probably got a little 'clipped'.

If you wanted, If you sent me the MD I could transfer it and compare to this version to see if quality was lost during transfer?? We both UK also.

im wodering if its like your hammersmith MONO audio shared as stereo cuz if its mono doesnt need to be shared as stereo to get the double of size not complaining just wondering...anyway thanks for the recording mang.

my guess is for getting the full show on 1 old school MD people have to record in some other mode than SP so it fits on 1disc complete....doing that this turns out being mono. full show, no cuts but mono.
if this is the case you could just FLAC the one channel and whola....only half sized in filesize.
