Sorry if this has already been posted but I read this in Classic Rock:

First part is about Metallica then GN'R

"It's 8.15 on Sunday evening and Guns N' Roses hit the stage on time!  Kicking off with Welcome to the Jungle, Its so Easy and Mr Brownstone, Axl wants to make an impression.  But it seems the stage is wet and Axl's not happy.  After a short break while things are sorted out, Axl almost slips over toward the end of Sweet Child of Mine.  Cue tantrum.  Guns take another extended break and the natives are restless.  The band take to the stage again to be greeted by booing, and a half-arsed attempt at Knocking on Heaven's Door doesnt help.
Bassist Tommy Stinson gets hit on the head by a plastic bottle and removes his bass.  Chucking it over the edge of the stage, he storms off, only to return five minutes later and apologise.
With so much hostility aimed at Guns by this time, it's going to take an effort and a half to win back the crowd.  But that's why Axl is a great frontman.  November Rain is amazing, and Axl announces the entrance of Izzy Stradlin for only his second appearance with Guns since the Use Your Illusion tour.  Skid Row's Sebastian Bach also makes an appearance for My Micelle, the crowd are pacified - and Guns eventually leave the stage to tumultuous applause.  When the odds are against him, you should always put your money on Axl."

fair enough - at least it sounds like Classic rock stayed for the whole gig!

It was a huge effort to pull this show back from the issues they had at the start - but they all did it superbly.  Not just axl - I think the whole band should be acknowledged for professionalism and guts and fkn talent!

This is for BabyGorilla and the people like him.
Before all my posts about subjective matters there should be an IMO before the post. I took this sig down but of course it has to go back up.
